Dinner

T: Ta Dah! Were here.
B: oh goody.
T: Welcome to the Dream House.

Both got out of the car. Before Tina had a chance to knock, the door flew open and Katie rush to hug & kiss Tina and then Bette. She was squeeling in delight. Then she straightened herself and said in a very formal voice

Katie: Welcome Miss Porter and Miss Kennard. You are our guests of honour tonight. Please come with me and I will show you to your table. They walked into the dining room ***** kitchen.

B & T: Gasp in delight. Wow!

Tina was taken by surprise too. She looked at Katie and then at Bette. Not sure whats going on but she smile. There were candles everywhere. The room look so warm and beautiful. The table was beautifully set for two. Food on the table. A bottle of wine and a single red rose in a vase. Music in the background.

B: Am I glad I won the bid.

Bette was surprise but she didnt like the least bit the thought that Tina might be having such an intimate and romantic dinner with another person. Her demeanour change from happy and surprise to concern and then a frown.

Katie: Miss Porter, Alice has asked that you keep your cell phone on and to expect a call from here any minute now. She would like to speak with you privately.

Just then the cell rang. Katie escorted Bette to the adjacent room. She closed the door as she left to let Bette take the call.

B: Hi Alice (sounding a little annoyed)
Al: Bette, before you get all upset about the setting for tonights dinner (how did Alice know. Gosh, shes psychic now!) I need to let you know that this was Plan B.

B: Plan B? What is Plan B and what are you talking about? (B was puzzled)

Alice went on to explain that when they knew Bette has won the bid, She Dana and Shane decided to make this a special night for both of them.

Al: so you see, it wasnt meant to be like this if someone else won. No candles. No wine. No romantic music. We added that because of you. So, please dont get all upset. We wanted you and Tina to have a wonderful night together. Its not Tinas fault. In fact, she didnt know about Plan B.

B: (was relief. Smiling now and full of appreciation) Thanks Al. And thank Shane and Dana. Im glad you called to explain. (feeling a little apologetic) I owe you guys big time, dont I?

Al: yeah you do. Dont worry. Ill make you pay. But for tonight, just enjoy her and have fun. We want you guys to be happy.

B: (laugh) thanks.

While Bettes talking to Alice

Tina question Katie about the whole settings.
T: Katie, what happened here? Wheres everyone? Has this got anything to do with Alice, Shane or Dana? I had a strange feeling they were up to something.

Katie explained about Plan B to Tina. Tina smiled. Amused. Why am I not surprise? She was touched by what they did though. And appreciative of the trouble they went through just to make it special for them.

Katie: By the way, Im leaving. Im to leave you guys alone. Theres no else here because everyone left – we got this order, from you know who (Tina said ALICE! Katie nod and laughed). And we are closed for the night – so therell be no interruptions. (Katie grin cheekily) The meals in the oven. Theres wine and soft drinks. Enjoy.

T: (reach out to hug her) Thanks Katie. Thanks for putting this together.

Katie: Im glad its Bette. Good night. Enjoy (she wink).

Tina admired the table setting. It was beautifully done. In the middle of the table was a large shallow bowl with candles floating on it. Tina took out the rest of the food from the oven and placed them on the table. She uncorked the wine and poured some into the glasses.

Tina was pouring the wine when Bette walked in. God shes beautiful. She slipped her hands from the back wrapping them around Tinas waist. She rubbed her face into Tinas hair. Kissing her neck softly. Tina stopped and leaned back to Bette. Enjoying the warm embrace. Bette kissed her again before gently releasing her grip. If I hold on any longer I wont be able to take it anymore. Tina turned around and faced her.

T: Baby, this is not part of the original dinner. Katie just told me about it.

B:I know. Alice told me about Plan B (they both laughed.) Thats what that call was about. Anyway, I like Plan B. (She winked at T) Plan B is definitely good. Baby, this is just so beautiful. Look at all the food. Im starving. Are you planning on feeding me soon?

They both took their seats. They made a toast and drank some of the wine. Bette reached out to Tinas hand and touched it.

B: Wheres Katie? Should we ask her to join us?
T: Shes left.
B: Oh really?
T: Yes, Katie and everyone else too. Apparently Alice ordered them all out of here. (laughing slightly) They have closed the place too (Smiling)
B: Why am I not surprise?

T: Bette, thanks for bidding so much at the auction. The money will come in handy and we will put it to good use. (She pause and then continue)
Oh! I didnt realize you were that desperate for a dance and a meal. (Shes teasing)

B: Im always desperate when it comes to you. Reaching to touch Ts face and then playing with her hair. She let go and said lets eat

Bette and Tina were enjoying the food. There was a big spread of food. When the neighbourhood found out about the fundraiser dinner they all offered to make the food.

They made small talk. B asked about Ts work and then the Dream Centre and Dream House. T in return asked about the Bs work.

When they were done. Tina got up to clear the table for deserts. She put the coffee maker on. Bette helped load the dishwasher.

T: Well have desert then Ill send you back to the Planet to get your car. Its getting very late. Remember, we have to be back by midnight.

Bette stopped what she was doing.
B: T, do we have to? Im not working tomorrow and Im not really tired. Alice did say I could negotiate the time? (She looked longingly at T) Could we stay a little later?? Please.
T: Sure thats okay with me too. Ill call Alice to let her know.
B: Is that necessary?
T: Yes, it is. Unless you want her to sent a search party here. Which Im sure she would love to know what were doing.

Bette laughed. Knowing full well thats true. Alice is capable of anything.
Tina took her cell phone out and call. She laughed when she hung up.

B: whats so funny.
T: Alice said we can stay as long as we like on one condition.
B: (raising her eyebrow) What is she up to now?
T: we have to play some of the games they prepared.
B: oh this will be fun. I cant wait (she said sarcastically) she smiled at T and they both laugh.
