Chapter 3
As Tina stepped over beside Bette she laid her hand on her
shoulder as she sat down beside her. Both women sat quietly for a few moments
collecting their thoughts.
“Bette first let me say I am sorry…it was just such a shock
to see you here in my parents home. I have not been trying to keep Angie away
from you. When you came to the house yesterday for me to sign the papers I will
admit that I was glad that Angie was in school but not for the reason you are probably
thinking. I was not sure she would remember you after all this time and I did
not want to hurt her. I was afraid if she knew who you were she would be angry
that you had not been a part of her life. And that is my fault.
Thank you for loving her so much that you secured a future
for her financially so she can pursue her dreams.
Second, I did not know that my family was going to pull what
they did last night and today. I am sorry if we made it difficult for you by
being there last night. Although I must say you were flawless in your presentation.
That has always been one of the things I have admired about you the most…your
ability to pull your professionalism around you no matter what the
circumstances and do what needs to be done at the moment.
Third Bette I forgave you a long time ago for the way our
relationship came to an end and the affair. The way I treated you afterward you
did not deserve that Bette. It was wrong of me to strip everything that made
you who you are away from you. With the help of other people I took away your child,
your job, and your dignity. Please forgive me…I am sorry.
I never imagined for one second that I could become so
vindictive, set on revenge, and so uncaring toward you. I just never thought of
myself as that kind of person. But at the time I wanted to make you hurt as
much as you had hurt me. It was wrong Bette. But you took it and not once were
you anything but sup portative of me even when I was breaking your heart a
little more each day.

God I love t6his story. Please do not listen to Sanetree – this is not a revenge on Tina forum. We all want to see Bette happy and not ending alone and sad like in – Balm for the soul -.

i was hoping her sisters would tell tina to have bette stay with her… dam… why not… after all bette has done for angie withou even being asked… i think tina should tell bette she has plenty of room at her house… love this story… pps
Great chapter. Loved it. So sorry that Bette has lost Kit and will not have that support in her life. Kit was always the grounding force for Bette and she will have to remember the life and love lessons that Kit taught her. Tina has involved enough people in their lives in he past and now her family which is great to a point. She now needs to learn to trust her own thoughts and feelings about their lives and her love for Bette. IF not mistaken, they both have expressed in private thought their feelings for each other and their feelings of caution where the other is concerned. They just need to stop the speculation and talk, truly talk to each other about their feelings for the other. They love each other and want each other but is not sure how the other person feels. Well, Hell, just ask. Thank God Alice is gone from their lives, she was indeed extremely toxic for Bette and Tina as well. I think she never got over their parting and Bette going to Tina, so she had to poke holes wherever and whenever she could. I’m not sure if Bette should stay with Tina and Angie this trip because they need to think about what they would be doing but NOT OVERTHINK it as they are likely to do. This part of the story can be a minefield of emotions if they are not careful. I WANT THEM TOGETHER AS A FAMILY but, they must talk to each other to determine the level of their love for each other because Angie is there as well. Thanks for a great chapter and story.

I agree, I DO love this story. You write with such intense honesty between these two women. I love the depth of your story and having Tina’s family included in it. It adds depth to Tina in a way that no other story has. I also love that Shane is still a part of Bette’s life and Alice is gone. She usually has an underlying current to her in other stories and you nailed in on the head. Thanks for the post!
Sammy, I just re-read your other stories last night. You are one of the few authors who show Tina’s POV and I like it. I am really loving this POV and can’t wait for more chapters.

I want this Tina as far away from Bette as possible. She had no problems having sex with her man, raising his kid and being content with him untill he dumped her. Now she suddenly has “passion and desire” for her ex? The only way this story would work for me is if you make Bette and Tina friends and give Bette a new partner.

sammy47 – I love Bette in this story. She’s suffered alot of loss over the years but it’s given her a better perspective on life, and what’s important. She’s a stronger better person for it. Sad about Kit, but totally agree Alice was a toxic relationship that needed separation. I think it’s great that Bette is showing by her actions the unconditional love and committment she has for Angie. She is being so considerate and respectful of Tina, Angie and the situation and I really like how she’s handling herself. Tina on the other hand is showing one of those traits that I think was to the detriment of her relationship with Bette the first time and that is involving other people in their business. I know the Kennard family initiated the reconciliation and I think it’s great that they are supporting Bette, Tina and Angie being a family but they need to back off now to allow Bette, Tina and Angie to work things out on their own. Sometimes their ‘good intentions’ end up causing more rifts than mending. Tina needs to trust her own intuition, her heart and her mind and not depend on others to validate her value, her feelings, or her desires. They all need to give Bette time and space to be comfortable just having Angie back in her life before they push Bette and Tina back together. The talk was good but they have a long way to go before they can be a couple/family again. Thanks for the frequent posts. Since you’ve spoiled us, I’m looking forward to more soon.
I agree i dont think tina and bette should be together even though they love each other too much damage has been done and bette has suffer enough pain already, she just need angelica back in her life and tina as herfriend.I also think Tina should finally let Bette adopt angelica she seems to be the only real person who care for her well being and not her own personal selfishness…I hate that Tina still also keep caring about Henry even.though she keep contradicting that she never really love him..smh Tina i love you but you are angrying the hell out me right now
