Chapter 5

Carmen’s first date

8: 00 a.m

Maria bust into Carmen room happily and jump on her bed like a child.

Maria: (excited) “Wake up sleepy head, time to get up.

Carmen: (sleepily) “Hmm what happen”

Carmen was so excited last night that she didn’t get a good night sleep; all she could think about was Shane.

Maria: “Get up and stop sleep, time to get ready for your first date”

Carmen muffle into her pillow.

Carmen: “It not a date we just hanging out today and please I need more sleep”.

“Whatever”, Maria said happily not believing her sister that it is just a simple day of hangout.

“What time Shaney is coming to pick you up”, Maria said going through Carmen clothes trying to pick something for her youngest sister first date.

Carmen sits up straight on the bed feeling defeated and knowing that she aint going back to sleep soon.

Carmen: (Yawn) “I don’t know we haven’t gotten so far yet”

Maria: “Well call her or something, you need to know where and when you are going”

Maria sounded so happy seems like she is the one going on the date and not Carmen but Maria is good hearted person she just wish her sister could be happy.

Carmen smiles from ear to ear because she is going to call Shane. Thank God they exchange numbers days before, promising to hangout soon and it’s finally happening.

Carmen mumbles and fumbles around looking for her phone.

Maria: “You are looking for this?”

Maria happily passed it to Carmen.

Maria: “I remember my first date like it was yesterday”

While Maria continues talking about her first date, Carmen nervously press the send button and wait for Shane to pick up.

Meanwhile at Shane house.

Ring ring ring

Shane was turning in her sleep avoiding her cell phone ringing. Finally given up Shane reach over to her nightstand and accidentally knock her precious cell phone off.

Shane: “Oh shit”

Shane fast reflex catch the phone but make her fell off the bed.
