Shane knew I was ready to throw down. My anger went from calm to hurricane force in a matter of seconds, how dare she come into my sister’s place and try and talk to me. Shane grabbed me as I stood to confront Jodi and she got in between us.

"You need to go," Shane said.

"No, Bette and I need to talk."

"We have nothing to talk about. Get out before I kick your ass outta here!"

"I saw you with that hot piece of ass last night. Did you fuck her," she asked and smirked, "yeah I was there, I saw you leave with her. I bet she fucks real good, I bet if I go back there to that bar, she’ll come home with me and fuck me real good."

I don’t know what came over me. But I felt this strong wave of anger come over me. I moved Shane out of the way and she went toppling over into the chair. My fist seemed as if it was going in slow motion and connected with Jodi’s cheek. The next thing I knew, Jodi was on the floor holding her face. The other patrons of the Planet looked on shocked.

"Don’t you dare fucking talk about Nikki that way!"

"You fucking bitch! How dare you lay a hand on me! I’m gonna fucking press charges."

"Like hell you will," I heard Kit say, I turned and she was behind me.

"Stay out of this Kit!"

"Hear this bitch, you won’t go to the police, Shane and I saw you slap Bette. You’ve been harassing her non-stop. We’ve already filed a retraining order against you, so if you don’t move it, we’ll call the police and have you arrested."

She sat there for a second, trying to find the words to say. She got up and ran out of the shop, I sighed and looked at Kit who had a you’re in trouble look on her face. I smiled and shrugged, she walked away and came back moments later with a bag of ice. She placed it on my hand, no words were exchanged, she knew what had happened and only time would tell if Jodi would come around again.

It had been three months since Jodi and I had broken up. Jodi had completely moved out of my house and all of my things remained. I didn’t hear nor see her since that day at the Planet, and word got around of my altercation. Nikki found out and was amazed and shocked that I had stood up for her.
