    Untitled: How Does It Feel? {Ch. Two}

I was heading towards my car as Jodi approached me. I stopped and turned around. I smiled softly as Jodi signed to me.

    “Where are you going?”

I signed to her. “At to lunch—with Tina.” Jodi nodded.

“I thought that we could have lunch.”

    “What happened with your meeting?”

    “It got cancelled.”

I sighed. “Tina and I have made this plan earlier in the day. I can’t go back on it.”

    “It’s okay, I understand.”

I smiled. “I’ll see you when I come back.” Jodi smiled, and I leaned forward. I kissed her softly and pulled away. “Bye.”

“Bye.” I walked away and got into my car.

I waited patiently for Bette’s arrival. I looked at my watch and exhaled. I took a drink of water as I looked around the café.

“Hey Tina,” I looked up and saw Kit. I smiled at her.

    “Hey—how are you?”

Kit nodded. “I’m good. I’m real good. How are you and Angelica?”

“I’m surviving, and your niece is doing great. She’s getting so big.”

“Well—I’ll have to watch her one day then. I miss my lil’ baby girl.” Kit smiled. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m meeting Bette for lunch.” Kit raised her eyebrow.

“You’re meeting Bette. What did I miss?”

I laughed softly. “You didn’t miss anything. We’re just catching up on things.”

“Well—speak of the devil.” I looked up and saw Bette walking into the café. “Hey baby girl.”

“Hi Kit,” Bette smiled at her sister. She took a seat at the table.

“Well—I’ll let you two take a minute, and I’ll come back.”

“I’ll have an iced tea.” I smiled.

“I’ll have green tea.” Kit nodded and walked off. Bette looked at me and entwined her fingers. “I did a lot of thinking about what you said yesterday, and it got me thinking.” She chuckled softly and looked at me. “I-I want to have OUR family back together, but—.” She looked up and licked her lips.

“But what?” Bette looked at me again and sighed.

“I’m afraid that you’ll leave me again” She smiled faintly and raked her fingers through her hair. “I don’t know what to do Tina. I have my relationship with Jodie, and I’m moving on.”

“Are you saying that you forgot about me?”

“I’m not saying that.” She shook her head. “I still love you Tina and I won’t stop.” Kit came back to the table with the drinks.

    “Here you go ladies.”

Bette smiled at her sister. “Thank you.”

“Do you guys want something to eat?” Bette shook her head.

    “I’m good.”

Kit nodded. “Okay.” She smiled and walked away. Bette looked down and bit her bottom lip. I ran my fingers through my hair and propped my chin up with my hand.

“I just want us to be friends Tina—I don’t want to ruin what I have with Jodi.”

“I’m not telling you to ruin your relationship with Jodi. I just want us to see if we can work out again. I want US to work things out.”

“Why is there to work out? There’s nothing for us to work out. We went our different ways. You went with Henry, and I found Jodi. We’re happy the way we are.”

I shook my head. “I’m not happy with Henry. I haven’t been happy with Henry for a while now.” I chuckled softly.

    “Well I’m happy with Jodi.”

    “Are you?”

“Y-yes I am happy with Jodi.” I stared into Bette’s brown eyes. “Please don’t look at me like that.”

    “Do you love her?”

“I don’t know that yet.” Bette shook her head. “I gotta go. I have to go to work. I’ll give you a call sometimes okay.” She got up from the chair and walked out of the Planet. I leaned down in my seat and buried my head in her hands.

    1. Love the story so far, and make Tina work for it. But please make Bette see the light, that it is Tina that she needs, not Jodi. Besides Jodi does not like children. A few minutes is one thing, a lifetime is quite another. Jodi can not stay committed.
