    Upstate and Beyond Part 2

10:53 PM, THE SPEKTOR LODGE, UPSTATE NEW YORK

It had been Jodi’s most productive day since her arrival in NY. She had not felt this inspired and, dare she think – happy – in a long, long time.

The sun had already dipped behind the mountains when Jodi decided to call it a day. After a bumpy two hour ride in a cramped van, they had finally arrived at the lodge.

The artist had invited Tom and his current boy-toy Hank to join Bette and her for dinner. An hour and a half later, she was in full "regret" mode. She had wanted nothing more than to be alone with Bette and yet, here she was, stuck in the middle of a spirited argument between her girlfriend and her interpreter about who was the better southern poet, Faulkner or Hemmingway.

Sure they had stolen a few kisses throughout the day… some longing looks… some yearning touches. But it had not been enough.

And Jodi did her best to ignore the feeling that she might never have enough of this woman.

Hank turned out to be the knight in tweed armor who came to her rescue.  "Tom, it’s getting late and it’s been a long day," the welder said, touching his finger to his watch.

"Oh, my… you are right. We should be getting to bed now." Tom said. Hank stood up and the interpreter soon followed. "What time are we leaving tomorrow?" Tom asked Jodi.

    "Ten-thirty."

Tom raised his eyebrow playfully. Jodi had to restrain herself from rolling her eyes; she had made the team be up and ready to leave at six-thirty in the morning since the project started. But what else could she do? She knew she still had a very, very long night ahead.

Tom returned his attention back to Bette. "It’s been great having you here, Dean Porter. You’ll be here tomorrow, right?"

Bette nodded gracefully. "I’ll be here for as long as Jodi wishes." The Dean’s cell phone unexpectedly rang. Bette signed this to Jodi, and proceeded to dig into her purse and fetch her phone.

"We’ll see you lovely ladies tomorrow," Hank said, grabbing Tom by the arm and practically dragging him towards the restaurant’s exit. Jodi just shook her head; those two made a surprisingly lovely spectacle.

    1. Is no one commenting on this?? I really really want Bette and Jodi to work. I was so glad to hear that Jodi was an artist, and could meet Bette on her level, and is passionate about what Bette is passionate about. I don’t however think she treated Bette well at all, especially after the party. Bette in my opinion was only trying to make her comfortable, and Jodi was wrong in just leaving without a word. So I really like this story, with Bette and Jodi loving each other, bring on the loving…but not if Bette is going to be made the bad guy all over again and have to apologize a zillion times.

    2. I am not all for B&J, but if Jodi can treat Bette right and with some kindness and love then that would be OK. I just do not like it when Bette gets hurt. That coming from a true B*T Fan. Thanks PPS

    3. Damn good writing. I’m in a good position here, because I’m alright with Bette ending up with either Jodi or Tina. Both, are quite exquisite women and I expect nothing but the best for the Porter goddess. Post soon please. It’s a brilliant start you’ve created. Once again, the writing is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

    4. Just read your two chapters very nicely written, like others have said ignore the star ratings its immature in my opinion just because your telling a story about Jobette. I love my Tibette to bits but I can appreciate another writer or writers in this case writing a good story, looking forward to what you have in store. Thank you

    5. What a powerfull new story :O) and with such elegance……..and beautiful written. Must admit that I’m a Bette and Tina fan but this story is so good and damn interesting – great piece of work….do continue with this and I’ll continue to comment when I find the time…wow
