Wanna Date? Chapter 1
1
“So are you saying…you wanna date me?” Bette asked with a disbelieving grin
“Yeah.” Tina had a determined look in her eye, that sent a thrill down Bette’s spine. Despite what she had said to Dan Foxworthy just the other day, Bette realized that the idea of getting back together with Tina WAS something she wanted – or at the very least, she thought they could have fun exploring it.
Of course, just at that moment Helena ***** Peabody WOULD have to show up to drag Tina off, but Bette didn’t miss the way Tina turned to look at her as she left with the *****. Bette wondered if she would be able to keep the huge smile off her face tonight.
Tina had been looking forward to this evening. She was incredulous when she had heard she was to be honored for her work with the Center. After all, what had she done except use her PR skills to persuade Helena Peabody to donate handsomely. However, as things turned out, that wasn’t all she had to look forward to tonight.
Being with Bette the other day had been a revelation. Just a few months ago, Tina had wondered if she would ever be able to be civil to Bette again. She had been so angry and hurt, had felt so betrayed. And she hadn’t thought that she would ever come to terms with it. But meeting Helena and seeing Bette make an effort to change had allowed the hurt to ease, had allowed her to see things more clearly. To see that there had been cracks in their relationship that Bette’s affair had just been the culmination of.
Tina also found that her progressing pregnancy had made her re-evaluate her priorities. Once she had got over her anger at Bette, she had been able to begin to forgive her. Not that Tina was quite ready to tell Bette that yet, but she knew it in her own heart. Helena had been wonderful to her, and Tina had rebuilt her shattered pride. She made her feel desired and wanted once again. In a way, Bette’s pursuit of her had also helped to rebuild her self-confidence, to give her the power to have the autonomy that she had stated was her desire. To have two gorgeous women vie for your affections when you looked like a small elephant was a nice stroke to the ego, even for someone who was inherently modest as Tina Kennard.

Very good start…I enjoy B & T beginnings. It would be a nice change to see them date and how their current changes would affect their renewed relationship. Please continue.

This is a very good start. I’m sorry you didn’t chose to continue it for several more pages. I was certainly ready to follow your lead!
I love these fics that fill in the blanks – more like chasms – left in the narrative terrain by the TV show!
Thank you!
And please, come back and see us again, and bring more of your writing with you!
“Damn her” and damn you; how could you tease us like that — 1 page, you are so evil. Just playing that was a great start and I look forward to adding you to my list of faves.
