    Lunch dates for Bette and Tina.

    Bette smiled serenely as she reached for the phone to call Kit. Lunch sounded nice. It had been a few days since she had talked to her sister, and Bette knew Kit was curious to hear how thing were going. Bette was generally not the type to share details of her relationships, but Kits joyous enthusiasm at her and Tinas reconciliation was really quite heart-warming.

     

    Then there was tonight, and a movie with Tina. Something light and fun, maybe with Angelina Jolie or Drew Barrymore. She wondered if they would buy popcorn and cuddle in the back row? Bette laughed to herself, thinking how absurd the situation was at times. In a perfect world, she and Tina should be cuddling on their own couch, making popcorn in their own kitchen. Bette hoped that perfect world wasnt too far out of reach.

    Tina Kennard was also planning her lunch date. Like Bettes, hers would be a good chance to discuss the most pressing issues in her life. However, as Alice was her lunch date, it was unlikely that she would get the impartial, levelheaded advice that Bette would.

     

    She arrived at the Pancake House just before Alice, and settled down to study the menu. Tina was well aware of the importance of good nutrition, but sometimes a girl just needed her carbohydrates.

     

    Jesus Tina, are you trying to make me your size without the excuse of a baby? Alice breezed in, complaining good-naturedly.

     

    Hi to you too Alice, she responded with a smile.

     

    So, this is nice, began Alice, you, me, a stack of pancakes and all the syrup in LA. Whats the occasion? Needing a bit of sweetness in your life?

     

    No occasion, I just wanted to talk.

     

    Uh oh, what has Porter done now? Alice looked genuinely worried.

     

    Nothing, Tina reassured, Shes great. I just havent hung out with you much. Im busy with work or with Bette, you have Dana, and I just realized I hadnt seen much of you.

     

    Alice looked at her friend. Tina wasnt the type to bare her soul, and Alice was definitely not the person people told secrets to. However, she did have something their other friends didnt, knowledge of the ways of Bette Porter, intimate knowledge. OK, so it had been many years ago, but that shared knowledge had meant that Tina often felt more comfortable talking to Alice than the others when it came to Bette. Of course, Alices total inability to keep secrets was a bit of a drawback.

    8. Well, it would be ok if 4 chapters were left IF you have your next story starting immediately after this ends!!! And what’s this about Tina having second thoughts…Say she is having a hormonal moment!!! Love the story!!!

    11. Oh My..I really liked this chapter. It’s funny how Tina misses parts of the old Bette and Bette misses parts of the old Tina. But Kit made a good point, “But that is the problem baby sis, it’s that intimacy that you fucked with. All the other stuff, the attraction and love, that’s what you’re getting back, but..” Bette and Tina have got to talk..they have got to tell each other what they want from each other, themselves, and their relationship. Can’t believe you said only 4 chapters left…hopefully with another wonderful story to begin? :) Thanks for this chapter.
