    What A Feeling!

Bette Porter arrived at the Planet in a huff, she had way too many things to do at her Gallery before the show to even consider taking some time off for something so insignificant as eating. The only reason she had agreed to do it was because her sister Kit had practically begged her over the phone to have lunch with her. After all, it had been nearly three weeks since they had shared more than a few words over the phone and she felt bad about it.

They had had their share of troubles before but now they enjoyed a really good fraternal relationship and Bette didn’t want to mess it up, not now that Kit was her only family.

“Hey baby girl, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes!” Kit exclaimed upon spotting her by the entrance to the busy café and pulled her in for a hug.

“Hey Kit, it’s good to see you too.” Bette replied closing her eyes briefly in the familiar warmth her sister’s arms provided for her.

The older Porter sibling released her younger sister from the hug and took a good look at her, gently caressing the attractive face. “You’re thinner than last month, baby girl. That new show of yours is consuming you again, isn’t it?”

Bette chuckled weakly trying to diffuse a possible conflict between them. “Well, I’m here now so feed me sister.” She joked.

Thankfully Kit smiled and led her to a table.

As they sat and got comfortable Kit raised her hand and motioned for someone to take their order, Bette’s back was to the counter so she couldn’t see.

“So tell me all about this show of yours.”

“Oh it’s going to be amazing! This is a new artist called Sean Bartlett and he’s amazing, his paintings are incredible, so full of life and passion and…”

“Hey Tina…sorry baby girl,” Kit interrupted Bette and looked behind her. “We’re going to order now.”

    “Okay, shoot.”’

The voice that replied was soft, low and had a very sensual, melodic ring to it. Bette slightly turned her head as the owner of the voice came to stand between the sisters. Years of mastering the art of keeping her feelings under control helped her barely contain the gasp of surprise that threatened to escape.
