What If: Chapter 2

“Dane…..Dana?”
“Huh, yeah?”
“I’ve been calling your name for the past two minutes.”
“Oh, babe I’m sorry what was it you were saying?”
“Where did your mind wonder off too? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Did something happen at dinner with your friends, “as soon as the words left her mouth Lara immediately felt bad. Since she hoped into the car she had been talking non-stop about the restaurant failing to ask her how dinner went with her friends she hadn’t seen in ages.
“Dinner, babe I’m sorry I’ve been running my mouth non-stop forgetting to ask how dinner went with your friends.”
“It’s okay, no nothing happened really it was just really good to see everyone, I was thinking about how much time has passed that’s all, “she lied.
“Yeah, my how time flies, “turning her head to look at her, “Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yup, I’m sure.” When they got to their room although Dana assured her she was fine Lara could feel something was wrong. Not wanting to beat a dead horse she left it alone and hoped whatever it was that was bothering her she felt better in the morning.
It was bittersweet saying goodbye to Tasha as Alice watch her walk down the tarmac to board her flight. She promised to call letting her know her flight landed safely. Watching her disappear around the corner she felt knots in her stomach. She wasn’t sure where they came from all of a sudden but she had a bad feeling and began to worry. Alice assumed the knots were her worrying over Tashas flight and believed they would subside once she got word she arrived in Virginia safely. Walking towards her car she grabs her phone and calls Tina.
“Hey Al what’s up, “she says answering on the third ring.
“I don’t know you tell me Tina.”
“What? What are you talking about?”
“You cancelled dinner with me after I dropped Tasha off at the airport we were supposed to meet up for brunch and you cancelled on that too!”
“Sorry Al something came up!”
“Like what?” Alice question caught her off guard because she was lying through her teeth. Nothing had come up truth was her and Bette were meeting up with Lara and Dana for brunch. She couldn’t tell Alice that so she had to think quick on her feet.
“Well, Bette has been really busy and this is the first time she has had an actual lunch break in a while and I wanted————.”
“OMG, your selling me out for a quickie Tina!?”
“Alice no! I just wanted to spend lunch with my wife why is that so bad!”
“Spending time a.k.a laying it low and spreading it wide.”
“Okay, you know what I will reschedule I promise!”
“Yeah, okay I’ll wait on it, “she says before hanging up the phone.
“OMG, Alice just hung up on me.”
“Yeah, I heard, “Bette says.
“I never cancel plans we have together and here it’s only been a few days and I’ve cancelled on her twice.”
“Look, she’ll get over it.”
“Yeah, I know but still this whole thing sucks.”
Alice getting in her car drives from the airport to the studio. When she passes security she pulls into her reserved parking spot. As soon as she entered into the building she was greeted by the show’s producer.
“Alice did you get my email about Fridays show we need to———.”
“Sam, OMG can I get like two feet in the door!”
“My bad, it’s that a decision needs to be made as soon as possible.”
“Look, I got the email and will respond as soon as I get to my office geesh, “she says turning the corner leaving him standing next to the audio room. Once she walked through her office she places her purse on her desk and plops down in her computer chair. Logging into her computer her email was flooded with possible show ideas, potential guest, different topic segments, and meetings. She answered a few emails before getting up from her seat and lying face down on her couch hoping to sleep off the unwanted anxiety. When she awoke an hour and in a half later she checked her phone to see if she had received any messages she had not. She was shocked to see she had a missed text message from Shane. Reading the text, she responds then walk towards her computer to finish answering emails. As she sat down she realized the anxiety she felt earlier still remained. Something was about to happen she just didn’t know what.

I don’t get it, listed you as favourite writer and i don’t get a notification :-(
But i am a addicted reader and saw your updates!
I love Jenny, the way she talks, she is a crazy ass, but sometimes she hit the spot.
Keeping Alice&Dana and seperated is a bad move, cancelling on Alice because Dana is in town and finding out they kept it secret will bite their asses!
Fantastic update! Thank you
