In a few minutes Red opened the door again to see if everything was all right with Bette and Tina. She looked in the room, and then she closed the door quickly and quietly. The women at Milk would have been surprised to have noticed the glint of humor and tolerance that appeared briefly in Red’s dark eyes. But no one noticed. She stationed herself near the door so that no one else would accidentally open it..

The back room at Milk
“Baby, are you OK?” Bette asked, breathless from pushing and carrying Tina across Milk.
Tina continued to struggle momentarily but then stopped.
“Yeah.” Tina answered as Bette withdrew her arms from holding her girlfriend. But Bette was wary and ready to grab her again if she bolted for the door.
Tina turned around and looked at Bette. As Bette watched her lover with concern, Tina’s face changed from annoyance to desire. She took Bette’s face in her hands and began to kiss her. It was the type of kissing that hurt your lips. Bette grabbed her around the waist and pulled her close and then dropped her hands to Tina’s hips and crushed Tina against her. Tina held Bette’s head as Bette began to kiss and rake her teeth down her neck.
It was at that moment that Red had opened the door and then closed it softly.
As they kissed, deeply, passionately, Bette wondered if this was going to be one of those *****-without-much-foreplay-because-I’m-turned-on-by-sports experiences. Apparently, it was. This is what she thought at first, but it turned out to be far more.
“Take your clothes off, baby,” said Tina hoarsely as she started to unzip Bette’s jeans and pull them down. For a moment Bette just stood there and watched her. Tina had Bette’s pants down at her feet and looked up.
“Bette, take your clothes off. Did you hear me?
Without taking her eyes off Tina, Bette started taking off her blouse and bra and Tina finished removing Bette’s jeans and panties.
“T, aren’t you going to undress?”
“No. Lie down.” There was a seedy couch in the seedy back room of Milk and Tina led Bette over to it. The sofa was enormously unattractive but it was also just enormous. But if the couch hadn’t been there, they would have had ***** on the linoleum floor.

I love this story and I’ve particularly enjoyed how you have developed Tina so carefully. Something about this Tina is so touching and so adorable. I was going to write you and say hey what about Bette, can you peer a little deeper into her soul and voila you did it so beautifully and so convincingly in this post. I could just feel those walls in her crumble as she allowed Tina to love her. Yes Bette does have a lot more crying to do. And yes, they have moved their relationship to a much deeper level–much deeper than we saw on Lword. Taking us step by step in their growing love feels incredibly therapeutic. Thank you

After having just done my speed reading routine from the chapter on 10/15 till this one, I am amazed how worth it, it was. From the confusion where I left off, to the gradual realization by Bette that she really was in love with Tina, as was Tina with her, to this chapter you have done a fantastic job of bringing them together. Every update making you feel the happiness, the anticipation, and love. Finding peace at the end of the day. Damn what more could you ask for. Thank you.
