What The Future Holds Chapter 16

    Chapter 16
    Previously:
The days went by quickly, and there had begun to be some alarm, and there had been instructions on what to expect so people were getting nervous.  Krystal had picked up their supplies and evidently transported them to the caves.  The group decided it was time to bug out.  They met at five o’clock in the morning to begin their journey.  Traffic was beginning to be heavy as people rushed to get out of the cities.  After a few minutes they decided to check the CBs and make sure they could communicate.  They traveled several hours when they heard."  breaker breaker 19."  "  Go ahead, breaker" rich bitch for wildfire, take it to 12.  They changed the channel to 12 where there was no other activity."  Go ahead rich bitch, this is producer you are coming across 10 x 10 we can hear you."
" What is your 20?  Shane needs a smoke break and Alice needs.  10, 100 (bathroom), we also should fill up on gas and food."
Bette took the microphone from Tina and responded " we are about 15 miles west of Reno.  There is a truck stop ahead called Boomtown, we will pull off there and wait for you."  Wildfire out."
Tina and Bette pulled into the parking lot of Boomtown and got into the line for gasoline.  They radioed Helena and let her know where they were.
After getting gasoline.  They parked next to Helena’s Van and all of them went inside to use the bathroom and to get some food.  Shane, lit her cigarette and said, I will find you shortly.  I heard they had a really good buffet .  I will meet you in that trucker’s restaurant.
As they entered the casino every television was on, all had the emergency logo.  "  An update on the asteroids.  The asteroids are expected to hit the Earth in two days.  You are advised to get as far underground as possible as this will give you the best chance to survive."  All of a sudden there was a stampede for the exits.  All of those bomb shelters and underground bug out facilities would come in handy.  In addition, those who did not have the means to get underground could go to the parking structures and get as far down as possible.  Also, subways and underground tunnels.  It was obvious people were beginning to panic.  While they were eating dinner, a new message came on the television ."  President Clinton (Hillary) has declared martial law anyone caught looting or rioting, maybe shot on sight.  There is a 8:00 PM curfew in effect.  Individual state National Guard will be out in full force augmented by the US military.  May God be with us all."  It is not known where the asteroids will hit we are hopeful we will know more in a day or so and we will communicate what is known to you all."  God bless us and God bless the Earth."

    1. Love this fic, i’m glad the girls were able to make it this far and hopefully their neighbors will play nice. The one guy has me worried though commenting on how well set up they were. i hope they don’t have to bust a cap in anyone. it is also a good thing Angie has someone her age to play with. i hope to read a new chapter soon.

    2. Vigilance is going to be key. Tasha’s training should come in very handy. I hope those in the neighboring caves aren’t thieves… who’s looking after the supplies in the ice caves? On an optimistic note, at least there’s another child Angie’s age, and there’s at least one friendly face in the neighboring group. Thanks for posting. :)
