What the Heart Wants-2
Thanks to everyone who reviewed. This will turn into a romance (eventually). It might not be who you expect. Then again, it could be totally who you expect. Oh well, onto the story.
Shane walked out of The Planet, and got into her truck. Dark green eyes just stared down the street. LA traffic just rushed by, not giving a second glance. Shane sighed, leaning back in the seat. She actually did have a client, but at the moment it didnt seem like she would keep the appointment. Shane usually was there early, to get ready for her clients for the day. But not lately. Lather had been bought out, and the new manager was a homophobic pain in the *****.
The new manager was always down Shanes throat about everything. Did you do that right? Thats not the way you color! You smell weird, were you drunk with your girlfriends last night? Shane hated it. She didnt even want to go into work half of the time.
A quick glance to the clock in the truck revealed it was already noon. *****, Im late. Shane said to herself, driving to the salon.

Shane jumped out of the truck, and ran in. The new manager, Hannah, walked over to Shane. Why are you late? Out with you girlfriends? Shane shook her head. In one ear, out the other. Theres was traffic. She said quietly, trying to make it to her chair. Yeah right! This is the last time youre going to be late. Shane got ready for her clients. Alright, I wont. Hannah stepped in front of her. Youre right. You wont. Youre fired. Shane looked up, shocked. But Get out. Dont I at least get my last paycheck? No, now leave.
Shane was nearly shoved out of the door. What the *****!? She snapped at Hannah. Look, I dont need a stupid ***** messing up my business. Im your best hairdresser! Youre a *****. Thats all I know. Hannah shut the door to Lather. Shane stood there for at least ten minutes, shocked.
Finally taking it in, Shane got into her truck. She barreled down the road back to The Planet.

Before all this, Alice walked back to the table. Shanes in a bad mood. What a surprise. She said, sitting down. Dana sipped at her coffee. Did she tell you why, at least? Alice shook her head. Its not her usual bad moods, though. She was really pissed off. She glanced around again.
The group talked for a while before Shane walked back in. She took the same spot at the counter, and buried her face in her hands. The small shakes showed the tears that could not be seen. No one walked over to her, and just let her be.
Shane thought her life was couldn’tget any worse. Little did she know how much worse it could get.
