    What the Heart Wants-7

Actually, I love Alice and Dana as a couple. I also have a twisted mind, so I like Shane and Alice together. I like friend relationships for some reason. This chapter is pretty short, because Im having a bit of writers block. Curse my English teacher and all his stupid writing assignments.

When it gets cold outside And you got nobody to love Shane was sitting against the wall in the laundry, singing to herself. Alice smiled slightly, listening quietly. She walked into the small laundry room. You know, Shane, you have a really nice voice. Shane looked up, smiling. Thanks, Al.

Alice checked the timer on the washing machine. Hey, do you want some lunch? Maybe a sandwich or something? She asked. Naw, I had a great breakfast at Tinas. Shane paused, standing up. But thanks anyway. The two stood there, smiling at each other, a comfortable silence fell between them. The loud buzzer of the washing machine shocked them, and Alice looked at her feet.

Shane took the wet clothes out, and threw them in the dryer. She set the timer, and walked past Alice into the kitchen. Is it ok if I grab a soda? Alice looked up from her feet, and walked into the kitchen. Yeah, its fine. Everything here is yours. She smiled.

What about that joint on the counter? Alice laughed lightly, and grabbed it. Ok, maybe not everything. The loud popping noise that came from opening a can of soda rang throughout the small house. Shane looked around. Youre house is really She searched for the right word. Echo-ey. Not the right word.

Alice raised an eyebrow. Nice to see someone who has good English skills. Jumping up, Shane sat on the kitchen counter. School was never really my thing. I was too busy staring at all the girls in my class. With a hop, Alice was sitting next to Shane on the counter.

Sipping at her soda, Shane sat there for a while, enjoying the silence once more. I just wanted to say thanks, again, for letting me live here for a while. She said, turning her head to face her friend. Alice smiled. I assure you, its fine with me if you live here. Itll be just like a slumber party every night. Laughing lightly, Shane looked back at Alice. Yeah, itll be fine. As long as its really NOT like a slumber party every night. The two laughed lightly before Alice change the subject again.

So, Shane, are ya gonna be looking for another job in the hairdressing business? Shane shrugged, finishing her soda, and tossing it across the room into the garbage can. You know, Im really not sure. I did so well, but I can do other things. Alice looked at the garbage can. *****, you could be a basketball star with an aim like that.

Shane smiled for what seemed like the thousandth time today. Alice always made her smile or laugh. Which girl are you going to have over tonight? Al asked, sliding off of the counter. None. Alice looked shocked. Wow. Thats gotta be a record What? Two days without *****? Yeah I know! Shane was actually being serious when she said that. Alice started to laugh, must be hard, huh? Shane nodded. Really it is, I mean its so hard fighting off all these women.

The two new room mates talked and laughed for hours. A wall clock chimed, showing that it was six oclock. Woah, its late. Do you want any dinner? Shane nodded. Walking over to the refrigerator, she opened it. With a quick glance, she saw that there was nothing really edible in there. That is, unless you like moldly bread.

Actually, how about we go out to eat? Shutting the fridge door, Alice walked back over to Shane. Sure, why not. Getting off the counter, she walked into the living room. Where do you wanna go?
