Alice: “Bette fucken Porter stop with this shit. I’m warning you.”

I stop with everything and turn to her, with my scalpel in my hand I walk over to her….

Bette: “What are you going to do Alice, are you going to shoot me? Really Alice if you want to shoot me, just do it. Ok. I’m going to continue so either shoot me or get the hell out of this hospital…..”

The phone in the room starts to ring and I told the sister in charge to answer it.

Sister: “Doc it is James.”

Alice: “No Bette you are not allowed to talk to him.”

Bette: “Alice he will know something is wrong if I don’t speak to him. Please let me hear what he wants.”

Alice: “Ok but nothing funny.”

We’ve know each other for almost 20 years, I met James in high school and we became friends, he knows me better than anyone else. We have a safe word between us, and each of us know that when using that word, the other one have a problem.

Bette: “Yes James, how can I help you?”

James: “Hey Bette I just want an update on Ella.”

Bette: “James, Ella is doing fine, we are almost finished with the op. Please tell Tina that everything is under control and when we are finish and Ella is fine we must go out for Sushi…… You and Cathy must come to.”

James: “Thanks Bette will tell her.”

And then the line is dead…….

I know that something is wrong, Bette hates sushi, we ones went to eat sushi and she was so sick of it, from there on we used the word as our safe word.

I get up from my desk and walk to the operating room. There is a room with a mirror window, the others doctor’s sits there to watch an operation, just like in Grey’s Anatomy. But the doctor’s and staff in the operating room can’t see you. I open the door, it is empty, and walk to the window. Everything looks in order, until I see and hear Alice. She is shouting at Bette and Dana and she have a gun in her hand.

I take out my phone and call security.

James: “Hallo this is James, I need security at room 206, and please hurry this is a code red. There is an armed person in the room. I will wait outside.”

A few moments later I see security.

James: “Listen guys, Doctor Alice is in the room and she is holding a revolver, she is holding Doc Bette and Dana hostage. We need to help them.”

Bette:

I look up from Ella to the door, I see James and our head of security through the door, and I know what I need to do.

Bette: “Dana will you finish this operation, I need to talk to Alice.”

While talking to Dana I wink at her and touch her arm.

Bette: “Alice you are right, as always, listen I’m sorry. Please put your gun away and listen to me. I know that I broke your heart and I I’m so sorry. I will leave Tina, and I know you will leave Dana. We will be together. We can leave this place and go away. I want to marry you be with you……”

I can see her eyes lit up.

Bette: “Please Alice I need you to come with me, we will be happy together…… Can I give you a hug?”

Before she can answer I pull her into a hug and press myself towards her….. While whisper in her ear.

Bette: “I love you Alice.”

She push me away and look at me, deep into my eyes.
Alice: “If you really love me, kiss me.”
I can smell the alcohol on her breath, but I know that I need to do this, so I pull her back towards me and kiss her.

The next moment I hear and see the guards running in and grab Alice, but she still had her gun in her hand, and the next moment I hear a noise and feel something in my stomach. She shot me………

I fell to the floor, and then I hear another loud noise and see Alice fell, she shot herself in the head, then everything is black, no noise no pain no nothing…….
