Bette: (Skeptical)Why is Kit calling you so early?

Tina: Ohwellits not that earlyits 9:30.

Bette: Ok, so why is Kit calling you at 9:30? Whats in 6 days?

Tina: (Oh f*ck, oh f*ck, think Kennard think!)Ohshes the DJ at a gig, something top of the line. She said she still had to call you and Alice. Shell probably call you later on.

Bette: Ohok. Why didn’t she just tell me while you had her on the phone or have you tell me?

Tina: I guess she didnt think I was with you.

Bette: Oh, Im going to go pick us up some breakfast Ill be right back.

Tina: Great, Im famished! Hurry back!

Tina walked Bette to the door then made a mad dash for her phone once Bette was out of sight.

Kit: Hello

Tina: Kit, I gotta make this quick before Bette gets back.

Kit: What?

Tina: Bette heard our conversation.

Kit: Oh *****, what did she say?

Tina: She asked why you were calling so early and what was happening in 6 days.

Kit: Giirrrl, what did you say?

Tina: I told her you were DJing some top of the line gig in 6 days and you were inviting me. I told her you would call her this afternoon.

Kit: Oh f*ck, did she buy it?

Tina: She seemed to.

Kit: She didnt question why I didnt have you tell her?

Tina: Actually, she did. I told her you probably didnt think we were together.

Kit: I cant believe she bought it, especially knowing I knew you were coming over for a date.

Tina: We have to tell the others in case this comes up in a conversation.

Kit: Ok, but where is this gig happening?

Tina: I dont know, come up with something.

Kit: Oh no you dont! Youre the one who got us in this situation.

Tina: Ok, ok. When you call Alice, have her come up with something. She knows all the places.

Kit: Ok, I can do that.

Tina: This actually works out to our advantage.

Kit: How do you figure?

Tina: When you call, tell Bette she must dress to kill. Ill suggest we take a walk at the beach before meeting you and the girls.

Kit: Ok, Im following.

Tina: Just be sincere when you call, otherwise shell suspect something. Oh, tell her to be there around 9:00.

Kit: Ok, I guess I better call Alice and the girls to set this so-called gig up.

Tina: Thanks Kit, youre a life saver. Just think of our ceremony as the gig. Oh, gotta go, Bette just pulled up. Talk to you later, bye.

Tina ran out by the pool and tried to calm her breathing before Bette found her.


After a lazy afternoon by the pool just relaxing and enjoying each others company Bettes cell phone rang.

Bette: (Walking into the kitchen)Hey Kit!

Bette: Yeah, Tina mentioned something this morning about you having a gig in a few days.

Bette: Yes, she was here when you called.

Bette: It went good. I told her about giving you the rings and she reassured me that we are good.

Bette: She said pretty much everything you did. She told me we need to focus on our future not our past.

Bette: Well, at one point, things got heated, but she stopped me.

Bette: Yes, she stopped me this time.

Bette: I was a little hurt and frustrated, but she said I was right in wanting to wait for the right time.

Bette: I did ask her to move back in. She said to give her 2 weeks to make some arrangements and tie up loose ends and then well have that talk again.

Bette: Kit, I just want to thank you for yesterday.

Bette: Ok, Ill tell Tina you said hello.

Bette: Oh, when and where did you say your gig was?

Bette: Ok, got it, well be there. Bye.


Tina: I should get going, I want to talk to Alice about her and Dana yesterday at the beach.

Alice: What! Dana and Alice were at the beach? I thought you spent the day with Alice?

Tina: (*****, *****, *****! Good going Kennard! Youre so worried about Alice spilling the beans and here you are dropping hints left and right.)I umI did. When I was leaving to do some errands before meeting you Dana showed up. Apparently Alice got some crazy last minute summer beachwear assignment and Dana went with her.

Bette: Oh, she never mentioned that assignment. Usually Alice is giddy about going to the beach to check out, as she puts it, nice pieces of *****.

Tina: (Giggling because thats the same thing she said yesterday)She wasnt too excited about this one. I guess she had a short deadline.

Bette: Whats so funny?

Tina: Oh nothing. Alice was talking about nice asses yesterday when Dana showed up.

Bette: So, do you think anything happened?

Tina: I dont know, but I intend to do a little investigating of my own.

Bette: Call me if you get any news.

Tina: Ill call you even if I dont.

Bette: (getting a goodbye kiss from Tina)Thank you for such a wonderful weekend.

Tina: Every day I spend with you is wonderful. Ill call you later. I love you.

Bette: (Walking Tina to her car)I love you too.


Tina: (Barreling through the door as if her ***** was on fire)Details, I want details!

Alice: (Smiling)Calm downI could say the same thing to you. Where the ***** were you last night? No, dont answer that, I dont want the image to scar my brain.

Tina: (Smacking Alice on the arm)Very funny, now spill!

Alice: (Sitting on the couch)Ok, so after you guys left things were kind of awkward at first.

Tina: What do you mean awkward?

Alice: Dead silence.

Tina: Gotcha!

Alice: Anyway, we put our towels down and talked.

Tina: AND!

Alice: Thats it, we just talked.

Tina: Bullshit! What happened to the Alice P charm?

Alice: Oh, it was there.

Tina: Go on

Alice: We talked about the kiss and how it threw us for a loop. She talked about Tonya while I tried not to gag. Finally, we talked about yesterday afternoon.

Tina: (Yelling)Yesterday afternoon! Did something happen?

Alice: Well it almost did before you interrupted us.

Tina: Me! What did I do?

Alice: Yesterday when I fell in the sand and pulled Dana down with me. She was just about to tell me that she made the wrong choice. That was until you yelled at us to come on. Then she clammed up tight.

Tina: I had no idea. Im sorry Alice.

Alice: Its ok because she finally told me later on.

Tina: (Excited)She did! So what now?

Alice: Nothing. She said she made her choice, good or bad and she was standing by it.

Tina: (Giving Alice a hug)Im sorry Al. I thought you were getting somewhere.

Alice: Me too. But, Im not giving up just yet.

Tina: Thats my girl! (Pause) Kit called me this morning and we have 6 days to get everything ready.

Alice: I know, remember you had her call about the bogus gig shes doing?

Tina: Oh yeah.

Alice: So, 6 days huh?

Tina: Yeah, 6 days so we better get busy.

Alice: (A tad confused)What needs to be done?

Tina: Have you written your part for the ceremony?

Alice: Umwellno not exactly.

Tina: Please tell me youre not going to wing it? This is so important to

Alice: (Trying to calm Tina down)Dont worry Tina. Ill have it preparedI just havent had time.

Tina: Sorry Al. Im just a little crazy right now.

Alice: Have you written your vows yet?

Tina: No, I thought I would try to write them tonight. I want them to be perfect, but Im not sure what to say.

Alice: Just speak from your heart. Before you write them (Not able to finish her sentence).

Tina: (Sensing something is on Alices mind)What is it Alice?

Alice: (Nervous)UmTinaWhile you and Bette were separated

Tina: Just spill it Alice.

Alice: While you were separatedone day I went to the house and found Bette curled up on the floor hugging a pillow, rocking back and forth listening to something over and over.

Tina: (Eyebrows furrowed)HuhIm not following you.

Alice: The next visit I took the CD and made a copy of it.

Tina: (Now annoyed)What are you trying to tell me? That you took a CD from Bette?

Alice: (Walking over to her desk and pulling out a CD)No, I just think you should hear whats on this CD before you write your vows. I know what you went through during this separation, but I think it would help if you knew where Bette was at.

Tina: Alice, we already talked about that. I just want to move on from it.

Alice: (Handing Tina the CD)Please Tina, just listen to the song. It may help you write something profound.

Tina: Ok Alice, Ill listen to it. Can I listen to it alone?

Alice: (Walking towards the door)Take your time, Ive got some errands to run anyway.

Tina took a deep breath and put the CD in the player. After hitting play, Tina walked over to the couch and prepared herself for what was to come.

Tina got up and turned off the CD. I cant do this. Bette, why did you do this to yourself? Tina sat there a few minutes deciding if she could finish the song. After wiping her eyes she knew she had to listen.

Tina: Bette you dont have to live without me ever again.

Was I lost in you and me to the point I couldnt see that what we had was dying.

Tina couldnt listen to anymore of the chorus. After wiping her eyes, she shut the CD off. You make me feel so alive and unlike Ive ever felt before. Ill spend my life making sure you never forget.

Tina picked up the phone and called Bette.

Bette: Hey T. I miss you already.

Tina: (Softly)I love you Bette, with all of my heart.

Bette: (Questioning)I love you too. Is everything ok?

Tina: (Mumbling)I just needed to hear your voice.

Bette: T. what wrong?

Tina: Will you come over?

Bette: (Worried)Ill be right there.

Bette hung up before Tina could answer or reply. Bette had already showered and changed for bed, she had planned on an early evening. Not taking the time to change clothes, Bette grabbed her purse and ran out the door.

Tina: (Answering the door)That was fastyoure in your pajamas.

Bette: (walking in)Whats wrong? Is everything ok?

Tina: (Now embarrassed for making Bette rush over in her pajamas)Everythings okI just needed to see you.

Bette: Are you sure? You look like youve been crying and you sounded upset on the phone.

Tina: Yeahcan you stay here tonight?

Bette: (Pulling Tina into a hug)Im not going anywhere. (Pause) Wheres Alice?

Tina: She had some errands to run.

Bette: (With her eyebrow raised in suspicion)At 8:00 at night?

Tina: Thats what she said.

Bette: What happened between her and Dana?

Tina: Apparently nothing, but its just a matter of time.

Bette: (Intrigued)I see!

Tina: Bette, can we go to bed? I just want you to hold me.

Bette: Whatever you want Tina.

They went to bed, Tina fell asleep in Bettes arms. By now Alice had come home and not knowing Bette was there walked into Tinas bedroom.

Alice: (Opening the door)Tina (Stopping just inside when she saw that Tina wasnt alone) (Whispering)What the f*ck! What happened while I was gone to bring Bette here? It doesnt matter, as long as theyre together.

Alice quietly left the room and closed the door. Sweet dreams you two, you deserve it.
