How?

How am I going to tell her what he did to me, how am I going to tell her that I know what he did to her?

I dont want to hurt Dana anymore than she already is and I know that this is going to do just that.

I have to be strong, stronger than him, he will not take her away from me. I wont let him.

Alice looks over at me, she has been wonderful. She really helped me at the police station and Im grateful that Dana has had her to lean on.

Were on our way to see her now, silence has been our companion and its deafening. I cant stand it so I have to break it.

Whatever she was going to say is lost as she returns her eyes to the road.

I sit remembering how I felt in that office, I was so scared, I felt so helpless and it breaks my heart to think of Dana, she must have felt that and so much more.

Why did I get away, why am I the one that was spared, why did it have to be her?

Why does it have to happen to anyone at all?

I cant get his voice out of my head, that smug look on his face is eating away at my skull and I know it has to be a million times worse for Dana.

I cant even begin to imagine what she must be going through, I just pray that she will let me help her.


The car stops and Alice looks over at me Do you want me to go talk to her?

No I need to do this alone.

She shakes her head Well Ill wait..incase she…needs me.

I hug her close, I think it surprised me more than it did her Thank you..for all that youve done.

She gives me a sad smile and I slowly get out of the car.

I ring her bell and wait, finally the door opens and Dana stands there staring at me.

Shock dances into her eyes and I want so badly to take her into my arms but I dont, I just stand there taking in the beauty of her.

Lara..what happened to you? she asks as she steps aside allowing me inside.
