When it all goes numb Chapter 9 Lara
Something is going on with Dana. I know it is, but she won’t tell me what and it’s driving me crazy.
Every since that party, she’s been acting strange went by the Planet but she wasn’t there,Marina said it had been a couple of days since she had seen her. I think she was lying to me but why would she do that?
I’m really starting to worry about her. Something must have happened, but what could it have been?
Doesn’t she know I’d do anything for her, can’t she see how much I love her?
Shane knows, whatever it is that has happened, Dana has trusted her enough to tell her. They have been joined at the hip these last few days.
Why can she tell Shane, and not me? Why am I the one in the dark?
I’m the one she’s supposed to tell her secret’s too, the one she trust with anything. Why has that changed?
I have to talk to her, but no one is coming to the door. I ring the bell again.
I wait, I’ll stand here all day if I have too. I hear voices from inside.
The door swings open and Shane stares a me. “Lara this isn’t a very good time. Dana..”
I push past her, “What’s going on?”
Shane shuts the door “Nothing, Dana just hasn’t been feeling well.”
“Don’t give me that bull *****.” I’m yelling at her, I didn’t mean to do that “I’m sorry…I’m just worried.”
That’s when I see it, something is very wrong, green eyes tell me so.”
“Shane..what happened?”
She shakes her head “I can’t Lara..it’s not mine to tell.”
What is she talking about? What the ***** happened?
I want to ask her but Dana makes her way downstairs. She looks at me, fear dances into her eyes and for a moment she looks like a deer caught in headlights.
“Hey stranger.” I cross the room, give her a quick hug and she stiffens at my touch.
I pull away and try to read her face but it’s blank. “Are you ok?” I ask hoping that she’ll trust me enough to tell me the truth.
“Nothing’s wrong, I’m ok, think I caught the flu or something.”
She’s lying to me, I can see it in her eyes, but I can also see that she’s not gonna tell me what it is.
Fine I’m not going to force her to talk, I thought she trusted me, I thought she needed me as much as I need her but I guess she doesn’t.
I turn and walk to the door, pausing for a second “Dana, when you’re ready to talk, you know where to find me.”
I hope someone stops me before I walk out, but no words come from either of them.
So I leave with more questions then I came with, and a bigger need to get the answers to them.
