When the Day Leaves You, 3

Bette watched from the chair as Tina rolled over; stretching her arms out in front of her and opening her eyes…struggling to focus. “You’re watching me again.” Bette pulled her knees up to her chest. “Does it bother you…being watched?”

    “Not when you do it.”

Smiling, she patted the cushion next to her. “Come here.” Bette squeezed at her knees and swallowed hard. Sensing her nervous energy, Tina said, “Or, maybe you just want to watch a little longer.”

“You must have been exhausted. You passed out the minute you hit the couch.” Tina sat up and ran her fingers through her hair. “I always need a power nap after I fly—but, I feel rested now. Did you want to do…something?”

“I was thinking I’d take you to dinner—I mean, we haven’t had a real date yet.”

“Oh, are we dating?” Tina got up and smiled back before heading toward the bathroom. “You don’t mind if I use your shower, do you?”

“No, I don’t mind at all, let me…let me show you where the towels are.” Bette sprung from the chair and followed her into the bathroom. “They’re right in here.” She opened the closet door and pointed to the towels before redirecting her attention to Tina, who was now taking off her shirt. “Oh. Just…holler if you need anything,” she said, before quickly walking off. Tina lingered for a moment and when she realized that Bette wasn’t coming back, turned the water on.

She was nervously pacing the kitchen when she heard her name being called out. Straightening one of the chairs around the table, she wiped her hands on the back of her jeans, before walking into the bathroom. “Did you call me?”

Tina pulled the curtain back, exposing her firm, wet body. Bette’s eyes locked in on her, a little bit shocked, a little bit excited. “I forgot to grab my conditioner. Do you think you could get it for me? It’s right in my carry-on, in the front pocket,” Tina said, before pulling the curtain closed.

As Bette struggled with the zipper, the doorbell rang. “Oh, fuck me.” She walked over and ripping the door open, saw Dana take step back. “Bad timing?”

    1. OMG.. Is Tina sick? If she is, I hope to God it’s not a terminal disease. I’ve always wondered why fanfic writers almost always choose to do away with Tina in tragic Bette & Tina stories. This is a very intriguing story, girlporter, and you write cliffhangers so well. Thank you!!! Looking forward to the next chapter! :>
