"Does she normally take this long? Should I go get her or something?"

Bette appeared more nervous than usual as she paced back and forth in the small exam room. Tina watched with amusement as the brunette unbuttoned her jacket while continuing to pace, placing her hands on her hips in some kind of poor attempt to control her nerves.

The blonde couldn’t help but laugh, "Bette, calm down. She’ll be here"

Bette stopped pacing and looked at Tina sitting on the bed, her expression still one of concern but she forced herself to take a breath. She audibly released it and nodded with a tiny bit more calmness than she had earlier.

"Okay. You’re right" A pause then, "Are you okay? You look uncomfortable"

Tina smirked as she laid her head back on the flat hospital pillow, "I think I should be asking you that. Do you want me to get you anything?"

Thankfully the tease had reached the brunette and Tina watched as Bette’s lips curled up into a cute smile. The brunette couldn’t help but let out a laugh afterwards, shaking her head with the realization of how ridiculous she must have appeared.

Bette knew she had overreacted but being there in that room with Tina was such a big step for her. She would be, in a way, meeting Tina’s baby for the first time. It was silly but Bette couldn’t help but think more in depth into the situation, inwardly hoping that the baby would like her.

Bette didn’t know how it happened but over time, she had somehow formed a bond with Tina’s baby. Bette enjoyed the effect she had on the unborn, loving the way the baby responded to her presence as well as her voice.

Through it all, Bette realized that she wanted to really mean something to the baby, a far deeper meaning than the one Alice and the others would have.

The door opened a moment later and in walked Tina’s doctor, setting the brunette’s uneasiness off once more.

"Good afternoon, ladies. How are we today?"

Bette tossed the blonde a nervous glance to which the blonde responded by chuckling quietly and holding out her hand towards the brunette.
