Wherever You Go, There You Are

    Chapter 5

    1 ½ years later

“Angelica I don’t know what’s gotten into you lately but if you don’t start showing a little more respect around here to me and Mrs. Murphy there will be no Spring Break trip with Paige.” Tina states sternly to Angelica.  To make her point as vividly as possible Tina has her hands placed on her hips and is leaning slightly forward in an unconscious attempt to intimidate Angelica.

Tina had agreed to Angelica’s request to go to San Diego with Paige and her family for spring break hoping the trip itself would be the carrot on a string before Angelica to get her more in line.  The last year or so Angelica seemed to be angry all the time.  There is nothing that seemed to make her happy for long.  Tina had attributed this anger to normal teenage rebellion but lately the challenging nature, the abusive side comments and the total lack of respect was becoming more intense.  Not wanting to deal with it but knowing she had no choice there was no one else, Tina was trying tough love.

Angelica set half listening to her Mother.  She knew her Mother wouldn’t take the trip away because she already has planned a business trip to Vancouver to solve some film crisis.  Angelic knew her mother well enough to know she would never cancel a business trip.

“Bette … Bette” Shane yells trying to get Bette’s attention.  Shane knew Bette could hear her but wasn’t ready to admit it was time to leave already.

“Come on Bette.  You are acting like a spoiled little girl right now who has had her favorite crayons taken away.” Shane admonishes hoping to get a rise out of Bette after all, she knows she could hear her.

This last comment gets Bette chuckling because she it’s true she is acting childish.  “Oh all right.  I’m coming down.” Bette says giving in.

Bette was standing atop twenty foot scaffolding they had rented so she could paint the mural she designed for the new Teen Shelter.

Together, she and Shane were able to line up financing between grants and private donations to build a real shelter.  A tangible reality, a place where some of the kids on the streets of LA can come and begin to rebuild their lives.

    1. Oh bloody hell… I smell drama of the major kind, of which only you can dream up. You are just laying the threads for the web to tangle ever so slowly into a mass of destruction in order to bring them back where they belong, up on that platform! I love it mate, so good to see you posting!

    2. I know theirs drama coming, but could it be good drama, you know they end up in L.A. instead of SanDiego, run into Bette, etc. And, boy are those two in trouble when their parents figure this out. But I’m with the others, since when do you not talk to the other parents before allowing your child to go.

    3. Oh Jwet, what have you done with the lovely Miss Kennard?? This sounds more like the kind of parent Jenny would turn out to be. Can’t imagine having such a loose reign on my daughter. Look forward to seeing Angelica’s fun and games come to a screeching halt!

    4. Oh how the plot thickens…hmmm? Now what’s going to happen when they get to SD? Hopefully, they’ll run into Bette or Shane and they will take one look at her and know who she is. I can’t wait to see where you’re taking this one. PPS

    5. WTF?!!!! Okay–both these girls are nuts for going by theirselves to San Diego for Spring Break!!! Do they know what kind of crazy things might happened?? Anyways, Tina and Paige’s parents are crazy for believing their daughters and not acutally meeting with each other before the girls leaving. Anyways, can’t wait to see what happen next!! PPS.

    6. Oh dear ~ I think Angelica is going to be in a heap of trouble. I’m hoping that her misdirected plans will somehow lead her to Bette and Shane. It’s certainly going to get interesting. Looking forward to your next posting!

    7. I am looking forward to the Jwet drama. Can’t wait for more. I have a feeling Angdevilca is on the road to getting caught. I could see Tina somehow getting from Vancouver to LA to San Diego to surprise her daughter, heh.

    8. Well this is a clever way to bring about a reunion – glad Bette seems to be recovering. Thanks for the update to this wonderful twist to the Tibette story.

    9. I’m fastening my seatbelt because we’re approaching dramatic turbulence. Maybe Tina will wake up, rearrange her priorities and grow a backbone. Please continue posting frequently, I’m getting spoiled.

    10. I am so enjoying this story. Can’t wait for more drama. Angelica and Paige have huge brass ones. And Tina is a dolt. And afraid of her daughter. Bette to the rescue?

    11. I FINALLY caught up! Man those kids are sneaky aren’t they? Honestly, they are playing with fire and it never is a good plan like a teenager thinks it is! I smell the drama and you have me along for the ride Jwet!

    12. Brats!!! How sad for Tina that her beloved baby has turned into a little devious brat…sad. As I always tell the kids, once you lie to me how can I trust you ever again??? Looking 4ward to update.

    13. …What the hell?????? Are these parents really that dumb to just agree without talking face to face or even over the phone? The drama bombs are about to drop in full force on Fanfiction Land.

    14. Could I be wrong, is it really THAT easy to fool parents, even super busy ones? That’s a very scary thought. And, hummmm, this Tina smells, sounds, a lot like good old Bette. Can’t wait to see what happens to this adventure. Thank you.

    15. Hey JWet, Am loving the mistress at work. The time jumps are a bit disconcerting but I can see that you are laying the foundations for a magnificent mansion. The ground is clearer and flat and ready for construction. I do get the sense that this trip to San Diego, CA will bring Angelica closer to Bette. They have to meet soon. I am happy to follow your wonderful words and wait to see the magic that you manufacture. More please. Many thanks for your hard work and effort to bring your fabulous fan fictions to me. Your Loyal Fan.

    16. Ok, this is crazy. I know Tina is absorbed in her work, but to the point of not communicating with parents that your child is suppose to be going away with. She is out of her mind. And is she so blind that she can’t see how out of control Angie is? Ok, no bad news on Bette check up. No bone marrows needed from Angie or anything else. Drama, Drama, Drama! Loving it!

    17. Jwet, I am so loving this. Angie when you play with fire you always get burned. I do hope Bette will be ther to pick up Angie when she falls hard on her Ass. What the hell is going on with Tina? Thanks PPS
