"Jared!" I exclaimed, I was surprised to see him.
I felt Bette letting go of my hand but I didn’t let her instead I held them tighter.
"What are you doing here?" Jared asked me.
‘"Juust hanging out." I said as realized that I haven’t introduce Bette yet. "With Bette."
"Oh.. you’re room mate." Jared said as he looked at my and Bette’s entwined fingers.
"Yeah.. my room mate" I said smiling "She’s more than a roomie." I thought to myself.
"I guess I’ll let the two of you go." Jared said. "See you tomorrow Tina."
"Oh. I’m not going in tomorrow." I informed him.
"Got a date?" Jared inquired.
"Anniversary." I simply said while squeezing Bette’s hand.
"Lucky guy." Jared commented.
"Yes I am." Bette replied.

Bette’s Side

"Oh my God! Did I just said that?" I thought to myself as I feel my face turn into different shades of red.
"What?!" Jared said making sure he heard me correctly.
I didn’t know what to say. I am just as shocked as he was.
"She’s the lucky guy." Tina said as she put her arm around my waist.
"Oh.." Jared said. "I didn’t know.." He was unable to finish his thoughts.
"Yes.. We’re celebrating our first year anniversary tomorrow." Tina said as if Jared could not hear anymore shocking news.
"Okay.. I’ll inform them that you’re not coming in tomorrow." Jared said as he said goodbye.
"He looked surprised as hell!" Tina exclaimed as soon as Jared was far enough not to hear.
"Baby.. you just outed yourself to him." I said.
"I bet he hears rumours about me and I also bet that the entire office does too and again, it doesn’t matter. Not anymore." Tina said as she kissed me on the lips.
"What is happening with you?" I said after enjoying the kiss that she just gave me.
"There’s nothing wrong with me baby.. I’m just in love."

Tina’s Side

I can’t say that I have no worries about me being out to my friends, my officemates and my family but all I can say is that I enjoy being free to do anything, well not anything.. you know what I mean ;-) , with my girlfriend and me not being awkward or nervous if someone sees us. I know.. it took me a year to realize this but at least when I decided to take baby steps to be out it means that I am ready.
"You are always surprising me." Bette said to me.
"Well.. I surprise myself too sometimes." I said as I puled her into a hug. "I don’t want us to hide anymore.. I’m ready baby."
