“How are things with Carmen?” Andrew asked
“Shit, she’s went into severe depression it’s horrid, Jess is at a loss on what to do, Bette and Tina are trying everything it’s just horrid” Jace sighed
“Physio is a disaster because she’s not wanting to try” Lisa stated “My Mama was trying to get her to draw or paint with her but she was having none of it, Jess tried to get her to write with her but nope”
Andrew shook his head “I don’t know what to do either, I’ve never seen her like this”
“We’ve only ever seen her like this in school when Jess left the first time” Lisa stated
“I’m puzzled, my captain said he had a word and she was still determined she won’t walk again”
“Which is complete and utter bullshit, the doctors have told her that” Jace said
“Yeah but when you add grief over her parents into the equation she’s not interested, she’s hurting” Andrew said “Is Jess with her just now?”
“Yeah Caroline and Summer Set Jess are there too”
“Anyway I need to get back to work, thanks for meeting me guys, I’ll be over at some point during the week, my hours are crazy just now with it being nearly Christmas”
“I can imagine, season to be jolly? I’m not feeling pretty jolly” Lisa sighed
Meanwhile back at the house…
“So what are the doctors saying?” Caroline asked
“She’s not trying and until she tells her mind she can walk it won’t happen”
“How long has it been?” The summer set Jess asked
“That’s been 4 month now so I don’t get it, I thought she would have snapped out of it but she’s just got ten times worse” Jess sighed “It’s so frustrating”
“So where is she now?” Caroline asked
“Physio with my Mama, I wasn’t allowed to go because apparently I’m too close” Jess snapped “Which is stupid because my Mama is close too”
“How did that come about?” Caroline asked
“They had her in the swimming pool trying to get her to walk in there and she ended up in tears, she was in pain, So I lost my temper and told the guy he needed to go back to university and study again and if he ever had my fiancée in tears again I would not be responsible for my actions”
Jess and Caroline laughed “Yeah that’s why you’re not allowed to be there Jess” Jess laughed
“Well no wonder” Jess sighed
“Hun she’s going to get upset, she’s going to get angry, her head will be all over the place” Caroline stated
“She won’t do anything, we’ve tried absolutely everything” Jess explained “I bought her new paint brushes and that board thing they paint on and new charcoal and stuff and it’s not even came out the bag yet”
“She paints?”
“She’s a phenomenal artist, she was my mama’s top student at school” Jess explained “She’s also a phenomenal writer and composer”
“Jez she’s a hidden talent”
“She won’t turn her hobbies into a career” Jess explained
Bette and Carmen came in the door.
“Hey how did it go?” Jess asked
“Usual” Carmen said
“Hey you” Jess smiled getting up “Heard you needed some cheering up so we hopped on a plane”
“You really didn’t need to but thank you” Carmen smiled
“Yeah we did, How you feeling?” Caroline asked
Jess followed Bette into the kitchen
“How’d it go?”
“She gave things more of a go but she still gives up the minute she stumbles and gets a fright”
“Callie was asking for you, she said she doesn’t appreciate you threating her physio’s” Bette smiled
“I don’t appreciate my fiancée in tears” Jess smirked sarcastically leaving the kitchen and going back to Carmen, Jess and Caroline
“You okay on the chair or do you want onto the sofa?” Jess asked kissing Carmen
“I’m fine here thanks”
“Okay guys I need to get to the school now, any issues phone your Mum I’m in meetings all afternoon” Bette smiled “Any emergencies then phone my mobile”
“Ok thanks Mama” Jess smiled
“Thanks Bette” Carmen said
Bette lifted her keys and briefcase leaving the house.
“So…” Caroline smiled
“How can we help you feel better?” Jess asked avoiding eye contact with Jess and looking straight at Carmen “Me and Caroline have a week to help you feel amazing again”
“Unless you have a magic wand you’ve wasted your time” Carmen stated
“I beg to differ; I hear you’re pretty talented”
“You heard wrong” Carmen stated
“Ok I’m hungry let’s go get food” Caroline stated
“Yeah I’m fine I’ll stay here” Carmen said
“Babe maybe going out will make you feel better” Jess tried knowing fine well it was a waste of time
“Jess I’m fine here, I don’t want to go out” Carmen stated
“Ok then maybe not” Caroline stated
“Well that’s fine, we’ll go get food and bring something back” Jess stated “Jess you can come with us and show us where to go”
“I’m not leaving her on her own” Jess stated
“She’s 23 she’s a big girl we won’t be long”
“Look I’m not being funny Carmen we’ve came to spend time with both of you, just because you’re in a chair at the minute doesn’t mean you will be staying in the chair, will you please come and have lunch with us for our sake if not for anything” Caroline stated
Carmen looked at the three of them.
“Fine” Carmen said defeated “If it will shut you all up”
