"Okay, are you sure you’ve got everything?" Alice asked distractedly as she wandered around the condo, picking up her stuff as she went.
"I wasn’t aware that I’d need anything for a blood test and an ultrasound, Alice," Dana replied, shaking her head at the way Alice was rummaging around like a crazed weasel to make sure she had everything ready to take with her.
"Well, I just figured you should take that list of temperatures we’ve been writing down, he might wanna see that. Otherwise, I don’t know…comfortable clothes?"
"I’m wearing comfortable clothes, Al."
"Oh." Alice finally looked over at her, appraising the now-customary sweatpants with a shrug. "Good."
Dana just laughed as Alice turned back to her rummaging and random picking up. "Would you calm down? I’ll be fine, and your show is going to be great. Stop being so damn nervous, you’re freaking me out."
"Sorry. I guess I just feel weird going to my show when you’re on your way to something like this. Maybe I should call Ruth and ask her to play a best-of segment or something."
Dana put her hands on Alice’s shoulders and shook her head. "We’ve gone over this a hundred times, hun. I’ll be just fine. They’re just taking blood and doing an ultrasound. That’s all. The results won’t even be in until next week, and you’re going to that one. There’s no reason to cancel your show for something this little. Besides, we agreed to some time apart, remember?"
"Yeah, I know. You’ve got Lara coming over later anyway, although I don’t understand why that can’t wait until you’ve been back from the appointment more than a few hours," Alice grumbled as she put some more clothes into the garbage bag she was carrying around for that very purpose.
"Sweetie, it’s not like it’ll take a lot out of me. It’s not exactly an invasive procedure, and I won’t even have conclusive results by the time I leave. Anyway, we’ll be on our break tonight, so I’d rather just do it then than have to schedule it later. I’d feel much better getting it out of the way as soon as I can. I know I told you I needed closure with her before, but this…well, it’s a little more imperative I do it soon."

Aww how cute!! I loved the radio part,lol. Shane is doing too much kissing to the danish duo…..only j/k. I totally love this story PPS Oh and yay for Alice singing tto!!!!
LOL, best part was “Nah. I used to be really into her in the 90’s, but not so much anymore.” Well, maybe not the best, but the funniest. That was a great line. So I laughed out loud, I sorta teared up with the letter (not much of a crier but you brought me close to tears on that one) and I heart Liz Phair so that was an added bonus. Another amazing chapter, and I was thrilled to come home and see you updated so soon! It’s funny, Elaine is somewhat Alice-like, although Dana is the funny dancer. Ooh, can Alice do a “GET OUT!” at some point to really complete the comparison? Okay, I’m getting carried away…
It’s impossible not to fall in love with this couple, especially the way you write them.
so sweet. the letter dana wrote was so cute. i am so glad she popped the question and that the cancer seems to be getting better. now i’m off to look up that liz phair song.
That was another great chapter I loved the radio bit and it was so sweet of Dana to ask Alice to be her girlfriend at 4am

Totally loved it. Gosh. This couple was just too good to be true to stay on TV I guess. I’m very glad to see writers like you give us danish back. So, we’re gonna see some card playing next time? lol OK! Loved the singing and Dana showing up at 4 am. aww!Im fine with the whole not showing the meeting between Dana and Lara. I was a bit surprised, but I didn’t really miss it.Can’t wait for the next part!
Geez MT, you really pulled out all the stops for this one. There’s not much that I can say that hasn’t already been posted – I loved it from start to finish! AND what a finish it was, yet not as pervy as it could have been, lol. Very sweet in premise harkening back to 4am, loved it!

From the prank calls by the gang to KCRW to Shane’s two new linkages on the chart to That Letter and to the reaffirmation that 4AM is the best hour out of all 24, I loved every bit of this chapter MT. Great stuff. Post as soon as, please, I need more!

Once again you have me speechless. So beautiful and romantic and funny at the same time while tinged with a little saddness but hopefully that will disappear in the next few parts as Dana keeps improving. Waiting patiently as ever for your next part :)

WOW! First off, very funny with the k.d. land reference…very funny! They are so in love with each other, you can really feel it…and you can really feel Alice’s insecurities are starting go away…I love how you are writing Dana…this is who she really is…I love how her and Shane were talking in the car, will there be a Dana & Shane convo about love and commitment, coming up? Oh and funny with Shane kissing Dana & Alice! So much great stuff in this chapter, like all the other chapters! Can’t forget to mention this, I love how Alice answers Dana’s question…okay I can go on and on…but seriously this is Great!!! PPS

This really was perfect, from Liz Phair, to alice singing, to her dissing KD (excellent touch) to Dana’s 4am lily. I loved this :) xx
*Sigh* Aren’t they just the cutest couple ever? I mean Alice singing a song for Dana (I would have loved to hear her sing ‘Baby hit me one more time’ :P) and Dana standing at her door at 4 a.m. popping ‘the’ question (maybe sometime soon she will be popping THE question…hint, hint ;)). Another perfect Danish chapter. (Oh and for the previous chapter, thanks for clarifying Alice leaving Dana for a while. It was more clear to me now.)
