Chapter 35
Tina was looking forward to having a nice chill out afternoon with Bette and Angie after what had been a long morning at work. She was determined to stay away for the rest of her holidays – her family needed her and work could just muddle on until she came back.
Tina let herself into their house and went looking for her family – Bette was in Angie’s room trying to get the little girl to put on her swimming costume – but there wasn’t much co-operation. In fact – Angie was yelling at Bette
“I hate this thing – get off me “
“Come on Angie – don’t struggle “
“Hey – what’s all this ?”
“Mommy – tell mommy to stop “
Bette looked at Tina who smiled
“Come here sweetheart “
Angie ran to Tina who picked her up
“Okay first of all – lets cool down “ Tina touched Angie’s brow and looked at her daughter
“Are you feeling hot ?”
“Yes “
“Do you feel poorly ?”
“No”
“You are a little hot honey – maybe that’s why you are grumpy with momma “
“I hate this thing – I want one like you wear “
“We will see but there is nothing wrong with this one”
Tina sat down with Angie and removed her swimming costume that was so upsetting her. Naked Angie stopped struggling and cuddled into Tina’s body. Tina looked at Bette
“She isn’t well “
“She has been fine – we have been shopping and been to The Planet and she was okay”
“What have you eaten honey ?”
“I had a milk shake and some fizzy juice “
“Nothing to eat ?”
“No “
“Can you get the thermometer from the bathroom Bette ?”
Bette nodded and went out of the room. Tina stroked Angie’s hair
“Momma B was only trying to get you ready so you could go into the pool “
“I know “
Angie’s tempter tantrum seemed to have abated – Tina kissed her daughter and stroked her face. Bette returned and handed the thermometer to Tina who shook it
“Now I want to put this in your mouth and it will tell me if you are too hot and if you are we will start trying to make you better – do you understand ?”

Interesting as always AllyE. Hope Bette and Angie are ok, just a little stomach virus, maybe. Good that Shane made up with Tina. Now what is going on at the studio that has upset Tina? Great post. Post when you can.
Can’t wait to see what’s going on with Tina at the studio. Also hope Bette doesn’t act like a big baby when she’s sick, if that’s what Shane was alluding to! PPS

Yeah, both Bette and Shane had limited childhoods which may have lead to their mutual tendency to schtupp for the USA at the Olympics, but I find the comparison to be of somewhat limited value. I mean both the Marquis de Sade and Clark Gable were noted celebrity lover boys of their respective days, but I think that’s about all those two shared. Bette’s youth, though harsh under Melvin’s parentage, was otherwise one of comfort and some privilege; Shane more or less grew up in the gutter. Shane needs to grow into a mature Shane, not the Shane Bette and/or Tina think she needs to be.
Poor Bette and Angie but Tina is there to take care of them and hope they will get better soon. Glad Tina and Shane talk and they are ok now. Please post more, thanks!
Hello AllyE, Thank you for another fine and fabulous addition to this fantastic fan fiction. Youn make the most mundane moments extraordinary. Bette and Tina dealing with a hot and bothered Angelica was so precious. This little girl is the light of both her mothers’ eyes. Tina, in full Nightingale mode, is pretty delicious. Great to see how she delas with her lover and child. Calmness reigns supreme as Tina just gets on with the day to day reality. Her concerns about works are teasing. I do hope things get sorted out sonner rather than later. I do get the sense that Bette might be the patient from hell as she tries to fend of infection and continue as before. I am sure Tina has the measure of her partner. Then Shane and Tina begin to rebuild their friendship. The sins of the past are discussed and the present is what they are working on. Shane knows that sher has acted foolishly and is able to admit it. Tina can deal with this and get them to move forward. Wonderful writing and classic storytelling. Brilliant as always. Thank you so much for entertaining me with all that you create. Your Loyal Fan.
