Who among you miss watching “The L Word” every Sunday night? Who miss waiting for the spoilers or news about the cast appearances at the premieres and benefits? Sadly, I still do. I remember with fondness my “spoiler hunting missions” in Vancouver and many different events that were happening all the time when the show was on the air.

Everything changed after “The L Word” ended but there are still many opportunities for the fans to meet and mingle with their favorite cast members once in a while. One of these opportunities is the L Conventions in England and fortunately, there’s L7 Convention coming in June.

I’ve been to all of them and I can assure you that even if the schedule is pretty much the same, each convention has its own unique atmosphere. In truth, L Conventions became as much about the community as it’s about “The L Word”. A lot of fans are going there not only to meet the cast members, some of whom they have seen already, but also to get together with their friends, to support a worthy cause, and to support their community.

When I last posted about L7, there were only two guests announced: Lauren Lee Smith (Lara Perkins) and Leisha Hailey (Alice Pieszecki). Since then the rest of the line-up was confirmed and as of now Lauren Lee and Leisha are joined by Clementine Ford (Molly), Janina Gavankar (Papi), Kate Moennig (Shane) and Mei Melançon (Jamie). At least two of “The L Word” ladies are convention virgins, meaning that this is their first time to be a guest.

The usual events are scheduled for that weekend: photo shoots, Q&A sessions, opportunity to get an autographed picture or some other memorabilia that will be signed right in front of you by the guests, disco nights, and a special meet&greet for the Gold Ticket holders where the guests will meet with a small groups of fans for a shirt but more intimate chat.

There are still tickets on sale, however, all Gold Tickets are sold out and the ticket sales are going well. If you haven’t booked your ticket yet, then you need to do it soon. The convention is a wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with the cast members, to see your old friends and make some new ones, to have fun and enjoy your weekend.
