L8 Convention – Brighton, England (March 11-13, 2011)

Do you know what I like about L Conventions in England? Well, there are few things I like but one of them is how unpredictable they can be for the L Word fans. The place changes so it gives the fans an opportunity to explore different locations in England. Sometimes guests cancel their appearance due to their work schedules or for personal reasons, and Sean always finds a replacement. Sometimes guests say that they would only do one convention but then they come back for another one…and this is always a good thing for the fans.

And here’s the most exciting part of news about L8 Convention that is coming next year: the first three guests had been already announced and I know for a fact that this information made many fans of the show around the world scream ecstatically and do happy dances. Are you ready for this? The first three guests are the funny and recently married Erin Daniels (Dana Fairbanks); first time as a convention guest and therefore a convention virgin, Kate French (Niki Stevens); and the most exciting of the guests, Jennifer Beals (Bette Porter).

I say the most exciting because, as I mentioned previously, Jennifer was one of the guests who told Sean that L5 Convention was her first and last convention. Many fans that couldn’t make it to L5 were hugely disappointed, especially knowing that they had one more chance to see TiBette together again. Now Jennifer is confirmed and Sean probably received hundreds of emails and phone calls, asking him to invite Laurel to L8 as well.

Here’s the most recent Starfury’s announcement about L8 Convention:

With the L-Events showing absolutely no signs of slow down, plans are already afoot for STARFURY: L8. I’ve already got some amazing guests lined up for L8, including the star of the L-Word herself, Jennifer Beals! It is very, very rare for Jennifer to make such an appearance, and we’re thrilled to welcome her back. Also joining her will be the wonderful Erin Daniels, who has not been at one of Starfury’s L-Events since 2007. And making her first convention appearance will be Kate French.

STARFURY: L8 will be taking place at the prestigious Hilton Metropole Hotel, Brighton. Since the very first L-Event, we’ve had requests for the event to take place in Brighton, so now we’ve managed to arrange it. The finalised date for the event will be 11-13 March 2011, one week later than previously advertised.

Tickets for STARFURY: L8 are already on-sale, and going very quickly, which is hardly surprising given the guests! There are less than 40 Gold Tickets still available!

When I first heard that L8 Convention is going to be at Brighton I immediately thought of “Pride and Prejudice”, my favorite Jane Austen’s novel. Seems to me that in Jane’s times it was a favorite place to go shopping, be seen in the new outfits and meet cute officers. I don’t particularly care about cute officers unless they are women…then I’m game. Women in uniforms do it for me.

Times have changed since then and now Brighton is actually well-known for having a substantial LGBT community, supported by shops, bars, night-clubs and organizations. Brighton is often referred to as “the gay capital of Britain”. And it’s located by the sea with beautiful sights to be seen. If there’s enough time you can even get a tan, just don’t forget your sunscreen lotion.

If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, then you better hurry because there are less than 40 Gold tickets left that guarantee meet&greet, best seats in the house for Q&A sessions and priority photo shoots and autographs.

You can follow Starfury on twitter for the latest updates http://www.twitter.com/StarfuryEvents and check out more information about L8 here http://www.starfury.co.uk/L8

As usual, we will keep you updated about additional guests, tickets information and any exciting news.
