Many of you have hopefully noticed that LesFan is no longer serving ads like this at the bottom of fanfiction:
They made decent money for the site – nothing earth shattering – but it was helping pay off tons and tons of development costs from the past two years as I transitioned from L-word.com to LesFan.com
But they HAD to go. Why? They’re awful. Just horrible. I couldn’t stand to look at them, and I felt they took our beautiful site and made it a really cheap, sleazy place. That was absolutely not what L-word.com was, and absolutely NOT what I wanted for LesFan.com.
As I have said many, many times the past few years, our site has always been about the community of friends here, centered around fanfiction. I worked like a maniac (and spent money like a gambling addict) to get us converted to LesFan to save our stories and our community. Mission accomplished. I couldn’t allow all that work – and this beautiful site and amazing community of friends to be cheapened by those crappy ads.
So, they’re gone and not coming back.

Wow, Jacky, that is some awesome decision to make! Nevertheless I hope you can find some new advertisers who are more ‘lesfanc.om’ than the others were and who will pay for all this good stuff you do with this page. In the meantime, I guess we all should think about donations, right ;)
