Rosie O’Donnell will reprise her role as foster care worker Rita Hendricks in the second season of THE FOSTERS on ABC Family. She will appear in two episodes this August.

O’Donnell’s character is a tough, yet compassionate woman who is a social worker who grows close to Callie (Maia Mitchell) during her time at Girls United. She appeared in five episodes in Season 1. In the finale in February, Hendricks’s speech helped Callie realize that bad things happen not just to her – and that she shouldn’t give up her hopes of being adopted by Lena Adams and Stef Foster.

The Fosters recently won the GLAAD Media Award for outstanding drama series and last year took home the Teen Choice Award for choice TV breakout show.

The Fosters is executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, with creators Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige, who serve as the show’s writers. Paige is known for his role as Emmett on QUEER AS FOLK.

The Fosters returns June 16 at 9 p.m. on ABC Family. In the meantime, enjoy THE FOSTERS FANFICTION here at LesFan!
