they have too much love between them to walk away from each other. at least lena and steph have admitted they have problems as their own children know there are issues between their mommas. of course the “kiss” could not be “not spoken of”. the eventuality of that big ole elephant in the room was destined to make its way into the open. and monty….tsk tsk tsk sister grl. her persistence and obvious pining for lena either from a distance or up close and personal over the “two for one” six pack of wine, I think me following my gut instinct, is that monty will never have that “complete happiness” with anyone since in her heart and minds eye, her distant love will always be lena., and she probably wont allow anyone else to enter and capture her heart.
tough call. lena and monty have to work together. steph has to get a grip and start putting that foot forward to keep their relationship strong. I love my foster mommas to bits, but that danged steph…she can make me crazy. steph is the strength to the family, but it is lena that is the glue to holding it together. if steph doesn’t get it together and start to participate with lena in mending their relationship, SOMEONE will end walking away.
and on a side note, I “hear” stephs mom will be returning to the fold permanently and not leaving steph and the kids. donno if this means that she will be moving in the house with them or she will moving in close proximity of them. either way, annie potts is my all time favourite, ever since designing women and her character of mary jo. ahh life is good having the family together. annie potts fits right in. she’s sassy, funny, southern and just great to watch in anything. yay for annie.
I am wondering if they’ll remove the Monty character to put this story to rest. “steph is the strength to the family, but it is lena that is the glue to holding it together.” – PERFECT. Yes, that’s exactly it. I have to say, the acting was FABULOUS in these scenes. I think Teri Polo, in particular, is a *really* good actress, and she really got to shine in these tough scenes with Sherri Saum.
terri polo has great subtle comedic timing. her facial gestures, clueless moments…”huh… what”???….eyeball rolls and side squints. her subtle smiles when she is proud or silently snarky after her foster kids have stepped up and chewed someone up and out on their own.. her personal energy is palpable and it evolves through her and from her character.
the first time I watched my foster mommas together in the very first episode, terri’s entrance into the kitchen after arriving home from work and seeing callie there at the table…talk about momma bear mode in a power uniform to boot. her protective instincts rolled out and she just slipped right in, felt at home and wondered what the big deal was to them being a two momma family. THAT is the terri polo I love, respect and admire. SHE is the strength to that family (wish I had the chance to say to some bullies, “I’m gonna sic my mom on you…SHE’s a COP…”) and pairing her with sherri saum…the chemistry between them as actors is rare. very few actors can pull off playing a couple with great chemistry and that rare ability to flow together in scenes. they are so in tuned to each other, and they both do that dance we all know, so well together. LOVE my foster mommas!!!
