    Transitions? Chapter 10

Shane sat at her counter drinking coffee as she waited for Angie to get up.  Today was a big day, Angie’s mother was coming to town with her fiancé.  What would happen now that everyone was in one place was anyone’s guess.  Angie had finally started to talk about how she felt about her Mama T remarrying and none of it was good.  Angie clearly was seeing in Tina’s behaviors, what Shane had been seeing.  Tina has not come to terms with her lingering feelings for Bette and it showed whenever they were together.  Angie was very perceptive, something she got from Tina.  Angie was having a problem with her mother’s decision not to fix her relationship with her Mama B and just come home.  How this was going to play out with Carrie in the mix was probably the biggest unknown.  No one knew Carrie nor her position on the situation.

Bette, in an action that was completely out of character, flew to New York to avoid the situation. This left Angie, Alice and Shane to be the welcoming committee for Carrie. Making it more interesting was Bette being named the new Director of the Peabody Art Foundation. Bette would now return to Los Angeles one of the most powerful women in the Art field. This new position was very serendipities.  It was keeping Bette in New York longer than expected and would require many trips back while she transitioned the Art Foundation’s main offices to Los Angeles. It still amazed Shane how Tina could bring Bette to her knees emotionally. Bette, who was such a strong and powerful woman lost in the emotional abyss of her love for Tina Kennard. In a way, Shane thought, it was probably a good thing Bette was tied up in New York for a few more weeks. It would give her a chance to pull herself together to deal with the new reality of Tina with a new partner.

”Uncle Shane,” Angie called out, bringing Shane out of her thoughts.

”Over here,” Shane called back.  ”How did you sleep?” She asked as Angie walked into the room.

”I would have slept better if Buddy wouldn’t have taken up the whole bed,” Angie laughed.

    1. Oh please….some more please!!

Funny how Carrie (part time) artist knows more about Bette’s life in New York than Tina or any of the girls in Los Angeles. This should really have blown Tina away. How could Tina not be aware of what was going on in Bette’s professional life? Wasn’t she living in the same house? This is a major problem. Nat and Carrie not being tied to the “family”, can see flashing warning lights all over the place. If I were Carrie, I would need to have a conversation with Tina asap. How is it that she didn’t know about the huge problem in Bette’s professional life while they were married? How could that happen? And can I marry someone who didn’t know something about her wife which was common knowledge in the entire art community in New York.? Could she really be that self-absorbed?

Great story….fantastic story line. Carrie is actually a decent person. But it would appear that Tina and Bette are the ones who need help – individually at least!

Thankyou for this story…..thanks for this chapter….post soon please.

    2. Hey SuperK

Thanks for posting, and leaving us hanging awaiting the next one. Did you already reveal what happened between Bette and Kelly and I just missed it in a previous chapter or am I as clueless as Tina? I’m reading so many stories simultaneously plus working on mine so sometimes I lose track. Hopefully I haven’t missed it and you will let us know soon enough. Interesting how this story is coming together, and looking forward to see where you take it.

    3. Loved the entrance Bette made! It’s very interesting that Carrie knows more about what happened to Bette while in New York than Tina. I can’t wait to see the next exchange between Tina and Bette.
