    Kerry is wondering how this friendship thing is going to work, and Kim is wondering if she’ll ever get her clothes packed.

    It had been a week since Kim had returned to San Francisco and Kerry had picked up the phone at least four times to call her former lover before replacing the handset without entering the number. She did not know that Kim had done the same thing.

    Kerry wasn’t even sure why she was doing it, which was likely the reason for her changing her mind each time. At first she thought that she would test to see how this friendship would work by calling to talk about her struggles dealing with Sandy’s death. She then decided that that would be a bad idea. She didn’t want to take the chance that such a conversation would kill their friendship before it had been given any kind of a chance.

    She had found it uncomfortable to talk about Kim with Sandy, and didn’t particularly care for Sandy talking about her previous lovers. Fortunately, the firefighter had respected Kerry’s feelings on this.

    While Kerry had grieved over the end of her relationship with Kim, it obviously couldn’t compare to the death of her wife, the woman she had shared her bed with for three years, had started a family with. Even though Kim dealt with things like this as a professional, Kerry wasn’t sure if she wanted to bring it into their friendship just yet.

    Kerry wondered what Kim was thinking. Was she really looking for friendship or did she want more from Kerry? She asked herself the same question about her feelings for Kim, but then felt a nagging guilty feeling. She had not thought about, let alone been with another woman since Sandy, but still …

    Maybe Abby was right. Maybe it was time to move on … or at least think about doing it. Kerry glanced at the clock on the wall. Eleven o’clock, which meant that it was only nine in California. She picked up the phone and started to dial.

    As she sorted between books she would keep, donate, and give to friends she came across one that caught her eye. Kerry had given it to her that Christmas, that same as their first kiss. She caressed the spine then held it close to her chest, closing her eyes in thought.

    1. NOOOO R/NC-17 for a long long time, please. Your story kicks ass and gets better with each installment. I can hear Kerry’s voice like my tv set is on. KUDOS. Don’t be tempted into rushing things, though longer installments would be oh-so-welcomed. ;-) You have my complete and total attention, and I will confess to checking for updates several times a day! Truly wonderful story. God, I wish the L word people would take a lesson and get B&T into a story as interesting as this.

    2. Hi Rocinante…I enjoyed this chapter. As you know, I’m not much of an ER watcher, but I’m glad you’ve gotten into writing some fiction. Thanks for indulging my B&T obsession. You’re the best! And don’t listen to Honda about posting longer chapters and/or more frequent installments. You keep working your cute little butt off so you can keep me in the style to which I would like to become accustomed!

Kim have to be patient with Kerry and her situation she is not feeling able to another relationship soon but like she said “right now” they maybe geting to know and spending time together that time to be together will come..baby steps for them..im glad you back and great chapter post as soon as you can thanks
