    Kerry is wondering how this friendship thing is going to work, and Kim is wondering if she’ll ever get her clothes packed.

    Was she making the right decision? Returning to Chicago felt right, but returning to a friendship with Kerry made her stomach do summersaults. Friendship had not worked between them before. She had found herself so attracted to the redhead that she couldn’t bear sitting in the same room with her without the prospect of touching her. And when she had thought that Kerry shared her feelings she allowed the attraction to become emotional and not just physical.
    ‘Allowed,” she thought to herself, remembering. ‘Kerry reached in, grabbed your heart with a death-grip, and then slammed it against a wall when she told you she was straight only to ask for your heart back a few weeks later and do it all over again.’

    She shook her head. That was a long time ago and Kerry had obviously changed, not to mention the fact that the rationale side of Kim knew that Kerry had never done anything to intentionally hurt her.

    Kim had just finished that thought when the telephone rang. She pushed the books aside and lunged for the cordless phone that was resting on the couch.

    “Hello?”

    “Hi.”

    The voice on the other end was tentative, but oh so familiar.

    “Kerry.” Kim could feel the smile growing on her face. “How are you?”

    “I’m fine. How are you? How’s the packing going.”

    Kim laughed out loud, which made Kerry smile as well.

    “Honestly, my professional opinion is that I’m avoiding the clothes. You were right, it’s a huge job.”

    ‘I wish I was there to help,’ Kerry thought and was a little startled by this. “You’ll be fine. Maybe you could give some things away.”

    “Excuse me?” Kim was shocked by the very notion. Donating books was one thing. Parting with anything from her vast wardrobe was another story.

    Kerry didn’t respond. There was this feeling of walking on eggshells with this new friendship and she was worried she had just cracked a few.

    Kim noticed the silence and realized how she must have sounded. Don’t ***** up.

    “I’m kidding, Kerry,” she said chuckling. “You’re right. I should weed a bit.”

    Kerry laughed a little too, feeling more relaxed.

    1. NOOOO R/NC-17 for a long long time, please. Your story kicks ass and gets better with each installment. I can hear Kerry’s voice like my tv set is on. KUDOS. Don’t be tempted into rushing things, though longer installments would be oh-so-welcomed. ;-) You have my complete and total attention, and I will confess to checking for updates several times a day! Truly wonderful story. God, I wish the L word people would take a lesson and get B&T into a story as interesting as this.

    2. Hi Rocinante…I enjoyed this chapter. As you know, I’m not much of an ER watcher, but I’m glad you’ve gotten into writing some fiction. Thanks for indulging my B&T obsession. You’re the best! And don’t listen to Honda about posting longer chapters and/or more frequent installments. You keep working your cute little butt off so you can keep me in the style to which I would like to become accustomed!

Kim have to be patient with Kerry and her situation she is not feeling able to another relationship soon but like she said “right now” they maybe geting to know and spending time together that time to be together will come..baby steps for them..im glad you back and great chapter post as soon as you can thanks
