South Of Nowhere – 2.06 – Things Meant To Be

            “So I’ll see you at school Monday morning.”  Ashley said to Spencer, they were at the door of the house, just outside in the cool air of the evening.  Aiden was making his way to Ashley’s car.  Ashley and Spencer were standing nose to nose, holding each other’s hands between each other. 

            “I’d rather be going with you…”  Spencer sighed.  Ashley kissed her lips gently.

            “We have all the time in the world.  You know you have to talk to your ‘rents…”  Ashley smiled, one side of her mouth rising, full lips inviting.

            Spencer sighed, pushing down the urge to push Ashley gently to the door and ravish her mouth slowly.  “…I know…”  Pausing and looking down at her feet.  “We keep getting interrupted.”

            “I know.  I told Aiden I’d help him with that project of his…”

            “Yeah, what is that all about?”  Spencer asked.

            “I think its kinna private.  I’m sure he’ll tell you if you ask.”  Ashley alluded and Spencer shrugged.

            “As long as you’re not keeping anything from me.”

            “I promise.”  Ashley stated.  Her hand moving to her heart and Spencer nodded.  “So I should go, tell your mom and dad thanks again for the homemade cooking and the invite.”

            “They didn’t have a choice.”  Spencer stated and Ashley laughed, she kissed Spencer quickly.  Turning and walking backwards to be able to watch Spencer watching her as she walked away.

            “What are you doing?”  Spencer asked shyly, arms crossed over her chest.  The look in Ashley’s dark eyes made Spencer’s skin glow. 

            “I just wanna remember this moment.”  Ashley admitted, opening the door to her SUV, getting in, and calling back out through the window.  “Not every day I have dinner with my girlfriend’s family.”

            “It won’t be the last!”  Spencer called back. 

            “I’m holding you to that!”  Ashley stated, starting her SUV, and driving away.  Spencer stood there, watching the taillights fading in the distance.  She let out a long sigh.  Now came the hard part.
