    Spencer digs herself a deeper hole… and then there’s showertime.

     I wondered to myself how long Carly would still plague my thoughts, hoping it would end soon.

    We spent a few more minutes kissing; that I found I could easily handle. Finally, Ash had to get back to work so I figured I would go back to my dorm.

    “So do you get to sleep at all when you stay here at night?” I asked.

    “Yeah, we usually take a few hours and crash on the couches. And then drink lots and lots of coffee.”

    “Maybe, um… maybe tomorrow you should just get some sleep,” I suggested. I watched her face drop. It’s not that I didn’t want to spend time with her, it’s just that I was worried about spending another night in a bed with her. I mean I loved it; I loved how safe I felt when I slept with her arms around me. But last night, I couldn’t help but think about how the last person I was in a bed with was Carly. It was eating me alive and I felt awful.

    “Why?”

    “You should catch up on your sleep… I don’t want to be a distraction.”

    “Tell me the truth,” she demanded. I couldn’t. “Are you sleeping with someone else?”

    “No!” Well, that was the truth. I never slept with Carly. “I can’t believe you’d think I would ever do that!” I looked at her with feigned disbelief and anger; luckily, she didn’t see the fear in my stare.

    “I’m sorry. God, I can’t believe I just asked you that. I’m so sorry,” she said as she ran an exasperated hand through her hair. A wave of guilt passed through me and I again felt like the most terrible person on Earth. But I couldn’t bring myself to tell her the truth.

    “It’s okay,” I told her gently. “I know we haven’t… done… that… in awhile. It’s just… I’m not ready yet. I’ve only been back a few days and even though it’s been… amazing… I just… I really wanted to take it slow. I’m sorry.”

    “I understand,” she said. “But still, I want you to come over tomorrow… I promise I won’t try anything, and I sleep better when you’re there anyway.”

    “Okay,” I smiled, which she reciprocated.

    3. I was catching up with the previous chapter and then I realized you had posted again!! Spencer did it bc she was feeling guilty or bc she missed Ashley? a mix of boths? it seems so bc Ashley tried to return the favor and she acted weird. hum!

So, i just discovered this wonderful thing called fanfic, two days ago. and never stoped reading your thread till i was completely up to date. it’s cool. i dig it……actually, i dig it so much, that i feel as if i’m cheating on you by reading other authors posts. I promise to remain faithful…..or at least try…..ps you know its a good story when you yell at your computer. “ah no! what are you doing!” etc. Cheers for the stories

    9. I have to agree with Murray123. Koz, your story is getting better and better everyday. I LOVE it and I am sooo glad that you still write it. Spencer souldn’t have said that Carly was her cousin, now it will be worse when Ashley finds out about the truth. I know there has to be drama, I just hope that Spencer doesn’t feak out and act stupid and say something that she doesn’t mean. Take care and PMS!!!!

I’ve got to say, I was having a pretty bad day at work (and thinking that being maced in the face would actually brighten my day) but then I saw your awesome message and regained my common sense. As for Spencer, as she was on her way to Ashley’s apartment I hope she noticed the sign that said, “Welcome to Poopsville! Population 1: Spencer Carlin” Like Mr. T says, “I pity the fool!” And fool, thy name is Spencer. Ashley is going to erupt like a volcano…and not in the way she’s craving, when she finds out about Carly. Nonetheless, I’ll take one ring side seat for Carlin vs. Davies 2006. Thank you kindly for another sexcellent, I mean excellent, chapter Kozmic. Please hook us up with another one soon.

Thought I’d share the love and say your way with words is great. If I was Spence I’d be honest, though I know it’s not real ;-) have been through a similar thing and know that you can’t beat honesty – hurts like hell in the short term, but in the long run it sorts a lot of problems!!
