Give Up – (Chapter: Recycled Air)

After opening the folder I inspect the list of places Spencer would be most likely to be found at. I think I just found my way into the ‘loop’

Authors Note: This chapter takes place about two weeks after Ashley’s briefing.

    Spencer Carlin

For some odd reason I keep coming back to her file.

    Assault. With. A. Deadly. Weapon.

After five years of dealing with shit like this I still can’t get it through my head that someone so beautiful could commit such a crime.

Sighing loudly I close the folder, tossing it on the end of my bed. I stand up and walk over to my closet, I look around for a belt to match my outfit. After finding the perfect one I slip it through my belt loops tightening it just enough. I walk to my full length mirror looking myself up and down.

Damn Davies, you’ve out done yourself yet again.

‘Knock, knock.’ I turn to my door and immediately recognize the tall red head standing in my doorway.

"Hey Courtney, I’m almost ready. Is everyone else down stairs?"

"Yeah…" She pauses for a moment and I can tell she is checking me out, not that I mind.

"We just need to explain a couple things to you and then we can go do this."

"Okay, I’ll be down in a second."

She smiles and turns closing the door after her. Walking back over to my bed I grab the file opening it one more time.

    Possibly involved in the business

Before I can read father I take the file and place it in my nightstand, locking the drawer before shutting off the light and heading down stairs. Walking into the living room I realize everyone is seated and awaiting my arrival.

Johnson who was previously settled on the edge of my sofa stands up smiling broadly. "Ah yes, everyone I want you to meet the newest member of our team Ashley, Ashley Davies." At this point he is standing next to me with his arm around my shoulder. Everyone in the room acknowledges my presence in their own way.

    1. Oh jesus christ. I hope there is just a family emergency and clay doesn’t know what Ashely is up to. This is so phucking great. I love thsi story. please post more soon. Im dying everysecond that u don’t post. :]

    2. Once again, a great update. I love the different plot line and it’s not just our usual Spencer and Ashley. Your writing is supurb as well.Anyways, post more soon please :)

    3. I love undercover cop plotlines in general, and yours is no exception. There’s something about the seedy world that criminals live in that fascinates me to no end, but when someone infiltrates that world like say, an undercover cop, that’s when the fun really begins. Miami Vice and The Departed remind me of the cat and mouse game to flush out uninvited guests, and I wonder if that could be a potential direction for this story. Nonetheless, this story is going great and I look forward to more soon…pretty please!
