Give Up – (Chapter: Recycled Air)
"Courtney, you asking her twenty-one questions isn’t helping anyone. If anything its making her more nervous, so cool it."
I meet Johnson’s gaze in the mirror and give him a thankful smile, forgetting all the anger from our previous conversation. I feel Courtney lean back on the seat. For the first time since entering the car, it’s completely silent.
Numerous minutes pass in silence, until we pass a well lit building with an electronic sign blinking the name RAGE automatically. I look around the parking lot and see the cars that were once following us go their separate ways, undoubtedly getting into their positions.
"Okay Davies, I’m going to pull around the corner and drop you there just to make sure no one sees."
I nod my head vigorously and suddenly feel a slight nervousness wash over me. Johnson words are finally starting to hit me.
"The second Spencer suspects something that’s it you don’t get a second chance."
Davies, calm the hell down. You’ve done this plenty of times, there’s absolutely nothing to stress.
We pull up to the curb nearly a block away from the club. Johnson turns in his seat meeting my eyes. "You ready?"
I let out a quick shaky breath before acknowledging his question with a nod.
"Good, now just remember that if anything goes wrong don’t hesitate to get out of there. We’ll only be a few feet away from entrance. Now if everything goes as planned be sure not to approach any of our cars. Call yourself a taxi and we’ll meet up tomorrow morning at the office Got it?"
Opening the door I smile and shake my head. Both Johnson and Courtney give me an encouraging look before slowly pulling away from the curb. I wait until I see the SUV pull into the club parking lot to smooth out my skirt, and make my way across the street to the club.
I walk by the car Johnson and Courtney are sitting keeping my head forward as if I have no idea who is in the car. I reach the front of the club and hand my ID to the bouncer. He looks at the picture then hands it back to me, smiling and pulling the door open for me.

Once again, a great update. I love the different plot line and it’s not just our usual Spencer and Ashley. Your writing is supurb as well.Anyways, post more soon please :)
Love it!So…they’ve met…I can’t wait to know what her and Clay are up to…..Update again soon!! :)
I love undercover cop plotlines in general, and yours is no exception. There’s something about the seedy world that criminals live in that fascinates me to no end, but when someone infiltrates that world like say, an undercover cop, that’s when the fun really begins. Miami Vice and The Departed remind me of the cat and mouse game to flush out uninvited guests, and I wonder if that could be a potential direction for this story. Nonetheless, this story is going great and I look forward to more soon…pretty please!
