    Hi, my name is Spencer Carlin, and my mind is made up.

    I managed to fall asleep again shortly after that, so unfortunately, we weren’t able to have ‘the talk.’ I had attempted to make room for Ashley on the small hospital bed, but when it became clear that it wasn’t going to work without a lot of pain for me, she pushed two of the chairs together and made a makeshift bed.

    I wish I could say that I was shocked she’d come all this way, but I really wasn’t. I knew that if our positions had been switched, I would have done the exact same thing (minus the fancy company plane) in a heartbeat. And for a second, I was almost glad I was the one on the plane; I don’t think I would have been able to handle it if I heard anything had happened to Ashley.

    “Spence… Spence, wake up,” Ashley said lightly, tapping my shoulder. I stirred around a bit before opening my eyes. She gave me a quick smile, the bags under her eyes already clear. “The nurse is coming back in a couple minutes… she wants you to try walking around a bit and then they’re gonna wheel you up to your new room.”

    “Mmm, alright. Will you walk with me?”

    “Of course,” she grinned. “How are you feeling?”

    “A little better actually.”

    “Drink some water.” She handed me a cup and the held the straw up so I could drink. I surprised myself with how thirsty I was, and quickly finished it. “I’ll go fill this up. Be right back.” She left in search of a water fountain, and a few moments later, a nurse walked in.

    “Good morning.”

    “Good morning,” I replied.

    “How are we feeling today?” Again with the ‘we’!

    “We’re feeling a little better.” Take that.

    “Uh…great. Think you can handle a lap around the wing?”

    “Yup.” The nurse helped me swing my legs over and slowly rise. To my surprise and relief, it didn’t really hurt as much as I thought it was going to. Hell, I could probably even do two laps around the damn wing. What now?

    And walking wasn’t terribly painful, either. I was kind of sore and somewhat dizzy, but I felt I could probably do it without the nurse’s help. A minute or so into the walk, I saw Ashley come barreling down the hallway with a bottle of water.

I love how Ashley is just diein to get spence-are lol to move in although im not sure a lot of people could measure up to those specific requirements other then spencer haha hilarious scene lol i am in love with this fanfic, thanks for the speedy post …Can’t wait for the next one…

    6. *Sigh* I’m so happy right now I’m almost to content to comment. Almost, that is, I’m always ready to tell someone else my opinion. Anyway, Spencer FINALLY realized what the rest of us have known for months now. There is nothing keeping her in New York. Ashley’s reaction was the cutest ever. I think Spence should totally move in with Ashley. You know the old saying if you’re in for a penny, you’re in for a pound. If Spencer can move from New York to L.A. for Ashley, she might as well move IN with Ashley. It’s obvious they still love each other very much. Loved the update Kozmic. I hope you keep this story up well beyond Spencer’s big move back home because there’s still so many directions this story could go. Loved it!

    8. Aww, koz, this story is just too sweet. I mean, I thought chocolately kind of sweet was at the top of the podium, but your writing is a whole new level. Just…not edible. I think my point was that I love your story. please pms!
