    Jackie and Sunshine have a heart to heart. Jake stares – little shit of a dog! Tina overhears something. Bette and Tina get teary – AGAIN!

    Chapter 49

    While Tina slept, Bette slipped away into the shower. The warm water felt good – it was relaxing. Bettes thoughts went to last nights love making. She had to smile. And just think – I almost fucked this whole thing up. Good thing I fell in love with an angel.

    When Bette was done with her shower – she walked back into the bedroom where Tina still slept. She noticed that Tina was smiling in her sleep. I wonder what shes dreaming about. Bette smiled a soft, loving smile.

    Bette quickly and quietly got dressed. She took a final peek at Tina before leaving the room.

    Jackie and Jake were in the kitchen. While Jackie drank a cup of coffee – Jake stared at her. Jackie had given up telling Jake not to stare a very long time ago. That was a battle she had no chance of winning – and she knew it. She stood a better chance of beating the Cancer.

    Bette made herself a cup of coffee and went to the table and sat down. Hey mom. How did you sleep?

    Great Sunshine – just great. Jackie winked at Bette. And you?

    Ok – I really need to ask you something.have you ever seen Tina and Iwellus doing Bettes words trailed off.

    Sunshinelisten to me. This house is not that big. So I guess my answer would have to be yes. Maybe once or twice – a dozen times – maybe two dozen…Before you hyperventilate – Im kidding about the dozens!

    Bette blushed.

    Bette – I know you are hopelessly in love with my little girl. And I know that the two of you make love with each other – often! You dont need to be embarrassed. You would not believe how happy it makes me when the two of you disappear together – when I see the tenderness and the passion you share – when I see the way you touch Tina – the way she touches you. Sunshine – the love that the two of you share is so special. Please dont change anything just because Im here. Its just so special Sunshineso special. Some people go through life and never find what the two of you have.

    Mom?

    Yes Sunshine?

    Why do you call me Sunshine?

    You, my dear, brighten every day of my life. You make me laugh. You make my little girl happy. You are just so beautiful – inside and out. I can feel your love when Im around you – it permeates everything you do – everything you say.

    Bette looked at Jackie. Tears had formed in her eyes. And I almost lost all of it – all of it.

    But you didnt. And now youre stronger – Tinas stronger. The two of you are stronger as a couple.

    I really love my familyand Im so glad youre here with us. Bette felt another wave of tears form in her eyes. Thank you for giving me Tinaand thank you for loving me.

    Sunshine, thank you for loving me. And thank you for taking such good care of all of us. Im so happy here. You have no idea.

    Bette and Jackie didnt know it but Tina had heard their entire exchange. As she fought back tears, she turned and went back to the bedroom. It was time she got into the shower. Tina joined Bette and Jackie in the kitchen a half hour later. She kissed them both good morning and then cheerfully said, Ok – lets plan that pool party!
