    the fog lifting

    All she felt was numbness, her brain no longer comprehending anything.  She saw Alice through blurred vision, stand and then move towards her.

     

    “Don’t.  Please don’t” she managed to whisper.

     

    Alice stayed rooted to her spot waiting for Tina to react. 

     

    The pages of the letter were still laying on the ground, and Alice bent to pick them up.

     

    “I said don’t!” Tina screamed, seeming to come around.

     

    Alice immediately stepped back, both in surprise and fear.

     

    Tina bent down, picked up each page, and then tried to stand.  Her legs though, betrayed her and she was forced to sit back down.  Alice just looked at her and said “Tina”.

     

    “I said don’t” came her only reply.

     

    She tried again to stand, and this time her legs offered a little better support.  Tina moved back from the table as if it were a hot fire about to scorch her, the expression on her face one of utter horror.

     

    Tina knew that Bette had tried to make things better between the two of them and that she had rejected her efforts, but this?  No, it could simply not be true.  She would call the CAC to confirm that Bette was still there and then go to her.  And if she was not there, she would go by the house in order to talk to Bette.

     

    She knew that Bette would never leave her alone here in LA.  She knew that Bette would never leave her period.

     

    This was all wrong, the letter was all wrong.  This could not be happening.  Her Bette would not leave her.  Try to make things better, yes, but leave her?  Never.

     

    She knew that she had to leave this place to find Bette.  That letter had ripped her heart out of her body.  Her body was heartless without Bette and it was not until this time that she realized that. 

     

    “She has not left, that I know” Tina tried to convince herself.  But deep down, she knew that Bette was gone.  She knew that all of the rejections had driven Bette away from her, from her life and from her soul.

     

    She had to fix this.  She had to find her.  The fog was beginning to lift and she knew that she just needed to make this happen.

    3. What a chapter!I felt bad for Tina.But, what did she expect? She was the one who told Bette to leave her alone. Need more chapters,please!! People are dying here. Good writing.

    10. INTENSE! The flow of words and style of writing truly paints a very vivid picture of how truly effected Tina’s feelings were upon realization sinks in and how broken the woman truly is. Beautiful piece of writing Ms. Skipton. Simply beautiful

    20. I’m speechless, so I’ll just jump in the backseat of carolann’s car. This is definitely your best chapter (and all of them have been great), but it’s also one of the best chapters EVER written on fanfic!
