Gargy’s ramble-fest
It all started in high school for me. I was thinking to myself anyone could write poetry, so I sat down at the dinning room table and scribbled out a little piddle of a poem about how easy it was to write poetry. Not bad for free verse, which is my stock-n-trade as poet with my specialty talent being imagery and character insight. Now that I am 28 going on 29 and I am feeling practically disappointed and enraged about how the world around me can be so unjust and ignorant; Ive taken my poetry to a whole new level, I am now an advocate with my poetry.
After graduating from HS and floundering the rest of the year away, I was depressed and not knowing where to go. The next year, just before my brief stint in basic for the United States Air Force, I had started a Star Trek: Voyager novel about BElanna Torres. Who knew itd kick start a pattern of neglect for starting a novel just to put it aside and then become immersed in yet another novel to still be awaiting my attention and to finish it; much less publish it.
Then, came fanfic at first I was enthralled by the stories that were filling the web with such incredible tales of peoples favorite fictional (mainly television) characters. Until I was so devastated by such an ending that I had to set the facts straight. See Mia Kirshner wasnt supposed to be on The L Word, she should still be doing Wolf Lake playing Ruby Wilder/Cates and I should be seeing Luke and Sophia becoming the alphas of Wolf Lake and ruling it with a firm but gentle hand. However, the ratings just werent there so CBS (BTW: Great choice of networks for such a show as Wolf Lake) dumped the show just before Halloween and UPN picked it up for its summer season and once again the ratings just werent there. I dont blame the American people; I blame both networks for not advertising it enough. But, I never got to see if/when Sophia flipped and if, shed chose to be Lukes mate or not and my god, they had actual wolves, beautiful wolves on the show. Then, there was Tara and Willow on Buffy. Joss killed off Tara in the 6th season. And just like we thought the ratings dropped because so many T/W shippers stopped watching. In case, youre wondering YES! I hate Kennedy. In the fall of 2001 (or was it 2000?), Bianca returned home to Pine Valley (All My Children) and it turns out shes *****, and then we meet Sarah-Biancas first/true love. Now, I am into the whole ***** couple kick. I wanted Sarah to be able to not marry Ian, to tell her mom off, to move to PV to be with Bianca. But, a las, its a soap opera and we never get the happy endings we really want-but, then again we probably wouldnt watch like the crazed freaks we are. And in the beginning of 2003 there came Lena, and I became an obsessive Lianca-lite. Thus, the beginning of Gargy and Wolfys FOREVER tail-waggin hang-out on the web was born. And has since growing. It was because of Lianca that I found AfterEllen.com and I had checked Sarah Warns site out on a regular basis for Lianca updates and news. Thats how I discovered The L Word.
I went in one day looking for Lianca information as always and then I saw it. A picture of Jennifer Beals with her arm around Laurel Hollomans shoulder, looking all beautiful and happily in-love. So of course, I have to read the article; its talking about how Jennifer is starring in a brand-new, first of its kind, cable show about lesbians in West Hollywood. That did it, I was now looking for stuff on Lianca and The L Word. OhmyGod! It nearly killed me to wait as long as I did. It is amazing that I survived as long as I did. So, I start looking up the limited (there werent that many L Word sites, message boards prior the premiere of The L Word) sites and message boards for The L Word. And, yes this site was one of the first that I found. I joined every L Word message board I could. Trying to gather as much information as I could about the show, its characters, etc. I even got Showtime to send me a press-kit of the pilot through Lawfully (this upcoming season, I am gunning for the entire Season 2 to be sent-theres rumors about others getting the full season last go around) and I devoured it in 2 days of receiving it in January, right before the premiere too. I remember Jacky talking about making space at this site for fanfic, so I took the initiative to write the very first L Word fanfic (Dirty Girl is its title) and posted it before the show even aired for the first time. Now, I was patient about letting the first season finish (as hard as it was to watch), I even went through some time of being so pissed at Bette that Wolfy had to talk me down nightly. Thus, I took up a therapeutic method of writing fanfic, so I started my We are Family! Series in hopes of creating a outcome that is apparently not how Ilene is directing it in cannon.
Its hard to write to your muse, they can be so temperamental and fickle that its not even funny. Sure my muse lets me finish my poems and one-shot fics, but (so-far) never my novels nor my multi-chapter fanfics. Its annoying, its frustrating, and its driving me crazy. However, like the song goes When you good to mama, mammas good to you! (Chicago, the musical). My muse when shes really inspiring me, boom I can knock them out of the ball park. But, I swear with the world population being what it is and the ever growing population of fanfic writers; I am beginning to think that muses are in short supply so we have to share them. I just want to hand-cuff my muse to my right arm ( I am left-handed, I need that arm to write) and loose the key. I dont like sharing my muse.
Let me tell you about Wolfy. Talking about miraculous timing. I met her online at the end of March 1996, in the official Space: Above and Beyond board. She was bored with the place and I was just freshly sent home from Lackland AFB, TX and extremely angry. Just think a day or two and I wouldve missed out on the love of my life, my soul mate, my everything. Well, she digged my personality and individuality and we hit off becoming fast friends. For the next two years we got to know each other as just friends. However, there was this pull for us to fall in-love. So, after two years of being friends and still have yet to meet, God intervened and made things happen. I flew out and met her for the very first time ever and we made love just 4 days of me being there. She already knew she was in-love with me, but she didnt tell me until after I flew back home. She mustve suffered for like 3 weeks waiting for me to pull my thick head out of my *****. Because I had thought I was in-love with this hometown boy since I was 16; that is another story, and well just to say that I was mistaken, desperate for love and just stupid. Finally, on July 3rd, 1998 while she was crying and begging me to love her; it dawned on me that I wanted what she needed, basically speaking I wanted to take away her hurt and sadness and just make her happy. It was in that very moment (in on through today) that I realized that I was in-love, truly in-love with Wolfy. And from then on we have endured the strain of learning about each other, growing up together, and 1200 miles that separate us. I used to always believe myself to be straight until Wolfy came into my life. I still root for straight couples on television, but because of Wolfy Ive had to re-evaluate my life to discover that I was indeed bi-sexual. Knowing that I still think of myself as a *****, because Wolfy is my first, my last, and my forever (quoting Tina). There are obstacles that are keeping us from being able to live together, but those are not for me to discuss. I just know that I dont want anyone else, no one and nothing is as important to me as Wolfys happiness. So, I will do whatever it takes to make sure that Wolfy is happy; yeah sometimes I fail but I try to learn from my mistakes and we discuss how both of us could be better for the other when we mess up and hurt the other. Yo! Bette thats why communication was invented.

Thanks for sharing your life, Gargy! But wait ~ no reference to your cooking skills, Chef?? (lol) Stay away from those scary movies and go find Wolfy to protect you from that overactive imagination… :)
Thanks so much for the story. I love to know there are others out there just like me.
Aw Gargy…so sweet to hear you talk about your muse! Great insight to a creative mind. I remember reading Dirty Girl! It was one of the first fic’s I read. Very cool.
Hey, BTAdddict-friend-do you want to write the 2nd part of my little personal tale!? ;D
Gargy, I love you imagination and your stream of cosciousness ramblings. Every last word of them. I hope your muse returns soon, maybe now that you have done this story as an offering to her, she will return. In the meantime, your fans await.
Gargy…I really enjoyed your tale of life…so far anyway:) Hats off to you and taking a chance on love…long distance is tough but if it’s meant to be no distance is too far to love…and be loved…always love your stories and hope to hear many more from you…ps…I yell at Bette too…IC really needs to listen to these stories to know what we want…cheers and love!!!
Gargy that was so sweet of your to share your story. And best wishes with Wolfy
Thanks for the insight into your life. I love your writing and your comments. So keep it up your always make me smile. Thanks
georgiaT33, I aim to please. I am glad I make you and, hopefully, everyone else smile!
Tinawho?: Honestly, I kinda’ like to think (more like hope) that IC will (if, she hasn’t already) read my fics and just have to me on staff (as writer, and producer) and calls and begs me-offering me whatever I need and want. At which point, I’d start telling her all about the art that Wolfy does and direct her to Wolfy’s official art site and she’d want Wolfy’s art to be shown on the show, even more than I already do.
BluJewel: Thank you for your ever present support of me and Wolfy.
Marie: I hope she does too, because I am going to hand-cuff her to me.
Katey471: Thank you for the praise. *I bow down before you*
cperrins1: LMAO! I am glad that you don’t find that scary.
Finally, my friend BTaddict: Thank you so much for my first fan (E)mail! ;D
Thanks for sharing Gargy. Hopefully your muse will be kind enough to let you finish your series.
Thanks for telling us about yourself. Your true story about love is inspirational. Thanks for giving me hope. Wolfy is one lucky woman!
Nice to get to know you. Your story is about true love, and it never lets you down. Thanks so much for your writing.. You are great..
Sweet. Love your life story. Im glad both of you ended up happily, long distance is hard but workable. Keep writing…..
TiBetteShipper: Actually, I am the lucky one to have Wolfy! ;D
SolitudeAngel and nzgrl (and everyone else that’s been wondering where I am and what I’ve been up to): I’d like to say I’ve been with Wolfy (I have been, but it’s been nightly phone converstations-thank God, for my cell phone’s unlimited NIGHTS and Weekend Plan-we are still 1200 miles apart. However, I’ve been going “old school” and my muse has come back to me, because I’ve had to skip over parts 5 and 6 and go right into parts 7-9 with part 10 due (which will complete my very FIRST multi-chapter fanic, yah! All by hand, putting pen to paper, and it’s been killing my pinky-as well as the rest of my hand. After I finish part 10, I do plan on going back and writing parts 5 and 6. Then, hopefully this weekend (I am really hoping for Saturday) I’ll be able to type all of it up (It’ll require an extended amount of time on my part) and get it posted for all of you devour.
E L K: Yep! Me and Wolfy are true/eternal love. I hope everyone can experience that kind of happiness from love, too!
JadedRogue: Yeah, I’ll get to all your’s and everyone elses’ stories that are currently back logged (and still growing) once I’ve finished my We are Family! Series.
EVERYONE: I’ll be busy for awhile with the We are Family! Series and then, I’ll be inidated with catching-up with all the stories that I’ve been unable to keep up with, however I do plan on rating and posting like a mad woman (not to be mistaken for our ORIGINAL/ONE-N-ONLY The Madwoman).
Off to mow the damn lawn, now.
Oh no Gargy,
_I_ am the fortunate one my love 8D
*kiss*
