Alexis I cant believe its you, What are you doing here? Shane uttered in disbelief, and wrapped her arms tightly around the woman in front of her.

Alexis was holding on to Shane with just as much force, I moved back a few months ago, and here I am

They stood hugging each other fiercely until they noticed that almost everyone in the caf was watching them.

As Shane pulled away she realized that she had started to cry, she quickly wiped the tears away with the back of her hand. She hoped that Alexis hadnt noticed.

At the same time Alexis had mimicked the motion by wiping her own tears away.

Alexis: (sniffle) Shane its been what, like 11 years? You havent gone soft on me have you?

Shane: (sniffle) No, Im just so happy to see you!, Yea, its been a long time.

While this was taking place, Alice Tina and Bette had been looking on.

Alice: Whats that all about, Shane doesnt move that fast, and she certainly doesnt hug people like that.

Bette: Is she crying?

Tina: Maybe she does know her, just leave it alone.

On the other side of the caf Shane and Alexis had sat down and begun to talk. They hadnt seen each other in over ten years, but within minutes everything fell back into place it seemed like they hadnt missed a day.

Shane: So how are you?

Alexis: Really good, and you?

Shane: Well I cant complain. God, its so great to see you. I dont think I realized just how much I missed you until right now.

Alexis: I know, I feel the same way. By the way, I think your friends are staring at me.

Shane remembered that Alice Bette and Tina were still there waiting for Dana to arrive.

Shane: Of course they are they never seen anyone so beautiful. Come, you have to meet them.

Alexis blushed at Shanes compliment, Even with a friend she knows how to work that charm she thought.

She followed Shane closely as they made there way across the caf.

Once they were in front of the table Shane introduced them,

Shane: Hey guys, I want you to meet someone, this is Alexis. Alexis this is Alice, Tina and Bette.

Alexis greeted each of them with a brilliant smile,

Alexis: Its very nice to meet you.

Bette: Would you like to join us, or are you two heading out?

Alexis: I would love to join you , you can fill me in on all the Shane dirt.

Alice looked at Shane with a puzzled look, wondering who the ***** this woman was. Shane understood that look and said,

Shane: Alexis was my best friend when we were younger, she moved away like 11 years ago.

Tina: 11 years, wow, what brought you back?

Alexis: Well I missed the noise, the traffic and all that other great stuff.

Everyone laughed

Alexis: No really, I was ready to by a house and settle down and realized that this is where I wanted to do it.

Settle down! What are you talking about, what happed to you in 11 years. Shane said in mock disgust.

Alexis: Wouldnt you like to know!

Shane: Seriously, what have you been up to?

Alexis began to tell Shane and the rest of the group how she had spent most of the last 10 years. They all listened as she told about graduating from college, traveling from country to country, dealing with her family and everything in between.

I cant believe it, after all this time I have my best friend back, Shane thought to her self.

As Alexis talked, Tina Alice and Bette would break in to ask questions but mostly sat and listened. They all like her from the beginning and made mental notes about her while she talked.

Bette: She got a degree in art history, Ill have to invite her to the gallery.

Tina: Can someone this beautiful, actually be this nice.

Alice: Hot Hot Hot, she is HOT. Those eyes and those lips! Focus Alice Focus!

Alexis continued to tell how she ended up back in LA when someone who entered the caf completely disrupted her train of thought.

Alexis: …..we were talking about houses when …uh….i….umm….uh

Shane: hello, Alexis?

Alexis: Sorry, what were you talking about?

Alice: You were telling us about the house.

Alexis: Right, sorry.

Shane had meanwhile figured out what had disrupted Alexis vocal coherency and thought to her self with a smile, well, well, score one for you miss Dana.
