It was 5 minutes to 7 and there was a loud bang at the front door. Bette was sitting on the couch reading some art book while Tina was in the kitchen putting the finishing touches to the home made lasagna she had prepared for dinner, and the crme caramel she had made from scratch, for desert.

Bette had attempted to help, earlier on, but Tina had booted Bette out of the kitchen when it was clear Bettes hands werent interested in food preparation, at all. The sudden noise caused both Bette and Tina to jump in fright.

Bette: (smiling, yelling) Thatd be Al, Tee. Ill grab the door Ok?

Tina: Sure babe, everythings almost ready.

Bette answered the door to find three women standing there, all with smiles on their faces.

Shane entered walking past Bette, Hey Bette, hows it going? plopping herself on the couch. Alice walked in next holding Danas hand. Dana looked a little nervous.

Bette: (smiling) Hey guys, Danaglad you could make it(jovial, looking at Dana) But why youve decided to hang out with these two though is beyond me. Shane gave Bette a look and Alice swatted Bette on the arm whilst walking through the door.

Bette: Alright, take a seat. Tina is just finishing up dinner and well eat.

Tina looked through the kitchen door yelling, Glad you guys could make it! Dinner will be ready soon.

Bette: Take a seat Al, Dana, so whats new since we last saw you? Bette was trying to make idle conversation until dinner was served and their announcement was made.

Bette was excited, she was wearing a smile that lit up her whole face and Alice knew something was going on, call it gut instinct but she knew Bette wasnt telling her something. And by the look on Bettes face Alice knew it was a pretty big thing for one Ms Porter. Alice was going crazy, she wantedno needed to know everything about everyones lives. Knowing Bette wasnt telling her something was causing her imagination to spin into overdrive.

Alice was about to start grilling Bette when Tina walked into the room. Bette’s eyes immediately focused on Tina. Tina had put the lasagna in the oven and bought out a bottle of red wine and 6 glasses, Tina opened the wine and offered a glass to the gang. They all accepted so Tina poured a glass for everyone, placing the spare glass on the coffee table, not realizing that Kit hadnt arrived yet. Bette was sitting in the armchair next to the couch, following Tina’s movements with her eyes.

Tina walked over and sat on Bette’s lap, handing her the wine glass, lightly placing her arms around Bettes neck, smiling while they glanced at each other for a moment.

All 3 visitors saw the exchange and smiled. They could see the love these two women had for each other.

Alice: Alright guys, remember visitors to entertain!! Will I have to hose you two off???

Bette: (slyly) Funny Al, but I bet Tina has more expertise than you in the hose department. Looking at Tina winking.

Alice:(grinning, looking at Tina) Well now Tina, depends what type of hose we are referring too?

Tina: (laughing) Get your mind out the gutter Al. I KNOW what Bettes talking about!! Im going to check on dinner. Behave you two!!!

Shane was sitting on the couch with her head back and eyes closed, just chillin, smiling at the conversation. Dana was nervously rubbing her hands together, listening intently to what was going on. There was another knock at the door. Bette got up to answer it, Kit (pulling her in for a hug). How are you sis, glad you could make it!

Kit: Hey.baby girl, hey guys. (looking over at the gang) Kit saw the happiness in Bettes eyes as soon as she looked at her, and she knew this was about more than just a dinner party.

Bette: Come in, sit down. Im so glad youre here.

Kit whispered in Bettes ear, Something tells me this is important for you baby girl, so I wouldnt have missed it for the world.

Bette smiled and in turn whispered, Thanks Kit.

Bette offered Kit a drink, she declined requesting water instead. Kit walked into the kitchen as Tina was taking the lasagna out of the oven.

Tina walked over to Kit, Hey Kit, how are you? giving her a welcoming hug. Kit could see the happiness in Tinas demeanor too.

Kit: Not as good as you Tina by the looks of it, you look great..really happy.

Tina: Thanks Kit, I am.looking through the door at Bette, who was in deep conversation with Alice.We both are.

Kit smiled and grabbed a glass of water, returning to the lounge room. A few minutes later the lasagna was served and the crme caramels, for desert, were chilling in the fridge. Tina yelled out for everyone to make their way to the kitchen. Dinners ready guys!!

The gang ate and talked, over the delicious lasagna Tina had prepared. Dana was becoming visibly relaxed as she was telling Tina about her budding tennis career, and how she was still in the closet Tina shared her experiences with Dana, as it was still relatively new to Tina too. Dana was extremely grateful.

Bette and Alice were immersed in their usual banter. Alice was trying to get information out of Bette and she wouldnt have a bar of it, while Shane and Kit were quietly eating, taking in the atmosphere.

They had all finished dinner and Tina got up to clear the plates and grab the deserts. Dana and Bette both got up instantaneously, to help Tina.

Tina looked at both of them, going over to Bette and giving her a gentle kiss on the lips, smiling, Thanks babe, you know I love you, but in the kitchen..Im inclined to give Dana a go.

Bette rolled her eyes, and took it as intended. Playfully pouting, as she sat back down. Alice and Kit laughed. Alice thought to herself, Wow, Bette has finally found someone who will give as good as she gets! Cool!!!!!!!

Tina and Dana returned a few minutes later with trays containing the crme caramel deserts. They placed the deserts on the table and Dana sat back down. Thanks Dana.

Dana: No problem, Tina!

Before she sat down Tina looked at Bette and nodded. It was time. Bette got up and walked over to Tina pulling her into a loving embrace, sneaking in a quick, tender kiss.

Bette: (looking at the gang) Ok guys, there was an ulterior reason we invited you all over here tonight

Alice interrupted, I knew it. her voice coming out louder than she expected.

They all looked at Alice, Sorry, Ok go on?

Bette: Well Tina and I have been together now for almost 3 months. Bette looked, almost mesmerized, into Tinas eyes and we love each other very much, smiling, and still looking into each others eyes. Anyway weve decided to share a home together, this home in factwere moving in together.

The whole gang smiled.

Kit was the first to get up, Congratulations you twoI can already see you two belong together. Take care of each other, Ok? Kit hugged both Bette and Tina whispering in Bettes ear, She is the oneI can see baby girlshes the only one for you!!! Never let go!!!!!! Bette gave Kit a knowing look, nodding.

Alice, Shane and Dana all came up and congratulated Bette and Tina.

Alice: (genuinely happy) Congratulations you two, now that youre living together we might actually be able to get together some times, do you think?

Shane: Awesome guys, Congratulations.

Dana: Yeah, Congratulations you guys.

Bette: Speaking of getting together Al, if any of you girls are free tomorrow afternoon, I could really use some help moving. Shane, I was wondering if I could lend your work Ute? looking at Tina, winking Tina and I would really appreciate it? It would give us more unpacking time

Shane: Yeah Bette, no worries. Were in arent we girls?

Alice nodded, rolling her eyes opting not to respond to Bettes remark, Of course we are.

Dana: Well Im in too, if you want me to help. I dont know anyone around here except you guys, so its not like I would be doing anything anyway.

Kit: I could spare a few hours for my baby sis. I got a gig a 7pm but Im all yours till then.

Bette: Thats great girls, Thank you. If you could meet Tina and me at my apartment at. Looking mischievously at Tina, about 2pm? (Tina nodded), Yes, 2pm, and it shouldnt take more than a couple of hours.

Alice couldnt let it go this time, God you two, dont you ever stop??? (Tina and Bette looked at each other, smiled, and shook their heads.) Come on guys lets get out of here so these two can start unpacking. Shane, Dana and Alice grabbed their bags and after bidding Tina, Bette and Kit goodbye, they were walking out the door.

Tina: Ok, thanks guys we will see you at 2pm tomorrow, yeah?

Shane, Dana and Alice all turned around, Yes Tina, well all be there.

Kit was now leaving too, Thanks for dinner you two, its great news!!!!! My baby girl is finally happy, it warms my heart. (tears begin to form in Kits eyes, but she quickly composes herself) Anyway Ill see you two tomorrow. Giving Bette and Tina a warm hug, Kit was also out the door.

Bette looked into Tinas eyes, and gave her a smile that set Tinas heart on fire. Bette had managed to keep her arm around Tinas waist the whole time after the announcement was made; she was determined not to break some form of contact with the woman she loved.

Tina turned around grinning, bringing Bette in close for a passionate kiss. Tinas tongue parting Bettes lips easily, finding the tip of Bettes tongue, tasting it, rolling it around with her own, stirring the desire in both women, that they had to contain for the last few hours.

Tina broke her lips away panting for air, breathlessly Dinner went well babe, now lets get this stuff cleaned up and get to bed. (winking at Bette)

Bette and Tina cleaned up quickly, practically throwing the dishes in the dishwasher and the glasses in the sink, staring at each other the whole time, grinning. Coming together in the middle of the kitchen when they were done.

Bette: (seductively, taking Tina in her arms) Ok baby, were done.now your all mine. Lets go! Bette took Tinas hand and led her to the bedroom.

Bette: (in between kisses) Now baby, were going to thoroughly enjoy tonight but we are going to need a bit of sleep, weve got a big day tomorrow..(smiling looking deep into Tinas eyes) You and I officially become we!!!
