Chapter Three

When they reached the bar Karen dropped Tinas hand and gave the blonde a hug. Tina was a little surprised at her actions but kept a smile on her face. *This must be the girl from last night* she thought.

Karen turned around to face Tina. Oh Tina, this is Alice. We all hung out last night.

Tina was interested in who the all Karen was talking about were but pushed the thought out of her head. She stuck her hand out towards the woman, Alice, its nice to meet you.

You too Tina. So are you enjoying your stay as much as Karen? Alice asked with a little waggle of her eyebrows fro emphasis.

Tina found Alice a little forward but she seemed nice enough. She was a little taken aback by her question though, Well

Laughing Tina, dont worry, I was just kidding. Alice looked around, Oh theres a table over there, why dont you guys get a seat and Ill bring some drinks over. Karen a mojito for you, Alice smiled at Karen then turning to Tina, And what can I get for you?

Um, a mojito too I guess, thanks.

Tina and Karen made there way to the empty table, Well Alice seems nice.

Karen began rambling on, Oh yeah. Shes great. I only meet them last night and theyre all so nice. We had a great time. You guys really should have stayed out.

There was that them again, Who else did you hang out with last night?

Oh, Karen forgot that Tina hadnt meet any of Alices other friends, The girls that Alice came with, Bette, Dana and Shane. Theyre a blast.

Well thank you darling, you aint too bad yourself. Alice set their drinks down and joined the conversation.

Tina thought that she would find things awkward being alone with the two women but she found she soon fell into a comfortable conversation with Alice . Alice was explain about her work as a journalist in L.A. and the new story she was thinking about writing. She was so enthralled in Alices story that she didnt notice anyone behind her until she was startled by someone pulling up a chair beside her. Tina turned to her left and was greeted by a young women with messy brown hair.

Hey guys. The woman turned to Tina, Hi there. Im Shane. These girls arent giving you any problems?

Tina instantly liked Shane. Alice and Karen just chuckled as Tina replied, No, not yet at least. Tina extended her hand, Im Tina, a friend of Karens. Its nice to meet you.

Bette and Shane made their way over to the gym to see if they could find Dana. Sure enough she was on the elliptical listening to her ipod. Shane sauntered over towards here, Dana, she pulled out her headphones, Were going to meet Alice then grab something to eat, do you want to com?

Dana looked at her screen, Sure Ill meet you guys there though. Only ten minutes left.

Bette and Shane left the gym shaking their heads. Man, she never lets up, shes on vacation. I think you and I need to get her to loosen up a little.

I dont know Shane, maybe a loose Dana is not something we want on our hands. Realizing what she had said both women broke into a fit of laughter as they entered the bar.

Well it looks like Alice did better than the bartender. Shane nodded her head towards where Alice was sitting with Karen and a mystery blonde woman.

Bette stopped dead in her tracks. She knew that blonde hair. It had been invading her every thought since see had first seen it this morning. She snapped out of her daze as Shane pulled up a chair next to the woman. Slowly making her way to the table Bette grabbed her self a chair. Sitting down Bette looked into Tinas eyes, So Alice, whos your new friend?
