    Getting in right direction-chapter 9

Shane was sitting alone at the little bridge in the park, staring at the water only centimeters from her shoes. “*****,*****,*****!” she muttered as she thought about what`d just happened. In that second, her phone called. Her heart was beating in raising anger when she saw that it was Alan. Shane picked up the phone without saying anything. “Shane…” (a little silece) “Shane are you there?” “I`m here” she answered. “Look Shane. I`m sorry. I really am sorry”. He sounded humble. “Why the ***** should I care Alan…?” Shane yelled out in pure anger and it made people in the park turn around and stare at her. “Because I want you to continue working. We need you here at Lather…I was just so…” It seemed like Alan didden`t wanted to admit something. “So….what Alan?” Shane asked thought she knew the situasion and that she could have her job back now, but she wanted to make him nerveous. Shane could hear that Alan took a deep breath. “I was ***** stupid Shane, and I`m sorry.” Shane was silent in the other end. “You know I`m just jealous at you and all…” Shane lifted her eyebrows in surprise. “What do you mean jealous?” she asked. “You`ve got talent Shane, and you know it. At least everyone else knows it. Thats why I`m jealous”. Shane almost began to laugh in pure surprise. She had never thought she would be hearing this from Alan. “And I kind of like Helen” he said quikcly, like he didden`t really wanted to admit it. “Oh..” Shane let out. She really didden`t know what to say. “And I can live with that…I mean..you and Helen going out and all.” He took another deep breath. “but I just can`t handle if you`re gonna remind me all the time.” Shane coulden`t help but feel a little sorry for Alan now. “Well Alan…I had no idea. I mean…We didden`t mean to…” Alan stopped her. “No, its ok. I`m the ***** here Shane”. They laughed a little together. “So..I`m getting my job back?” Shane asked. “Yes, ofcourse” Alan responded at once. “If you still want it?”. “Shure, shure” Shane said trying to not sound too enthused. “Ok…so no hard feelings then?” Alan asked hopefully. “No Alan. We`ll just have to deal with problems when they come…if they come, but let`s try to stay friends”. “Ok. Your`e a good person Shane. Thank you”. He hang up.
