New Love Is Always the Best – Ch 47

The saying goes time heals all pain, but in this case that is just not true. Almost one week had gone by since the night Bette had come home and found Tina sleeping on the couch, and things hadnt really changed since that moment. They still barely spoke to one another, but when they did it was civil to say the least, and they still hadnt talked about their fight almost two weeks ago. Tina and Bette were both feeling some combination of confusion, hurt and anger while their friends watched from the outside all hoping that this would end soon and they could go back to being one big happy group.

Bette had been putting all of her energy into her most recent show and she hadnt had a lot of time to sit and think about the relationship and where it was headed, if anywhere at all. She spent most of her time stressed out and when she came home at the end of a long day she really wished she could just sit and relax with Tina or even just fall asleep in her arms once in a while.

Tina on the other hand had gotten more and more busy at work as well and she too was feeling the pressure of having a high profile job. She would spend countless hours reviewing manuscripts, taking calls from agents and trying to sort out what producer would be handling which project and where. Needless to say at the end of her day she wished that just once when she got home Bette would be there so they could unwind and have a quiet evening.

It was this routine schedule that was driving both women mad and Bette thought that if she didnt do something about it soon it was either just going to crumble or they would end up hating each other forever. She had no idea how Tina felt at that moment and this frustrated her. She liked being able to know how Tina was feeling at any given moment and she took pride in being the one who could either comfort her or help her through her tough times. But lately she had been feeling useless and perhaps, just perhaps, this was part of the problem. Bette Porter was a leader, a doer, and for her to be in the position where she couldnt do anything, well it was driving her insane.
