Haunted By the Memory Of You ch.3

The next morning Shane was hoping Carmen would call. She knew that it was asking a lot of Carmen to meet her for lunch. Shane would completely understand if Carmen didn’t come, after everything that happened Carmen shouldn’t come. It was around 10:30 and Carmen still hasn’t called so Shane decided to take matters into her own hands. She dialed Carmen’s number.

"Hey Carmen, I was just wondering if you were gonna meet me for lunch".

"Damn, I forgot about that Um, im kinda today". Carmen didn’t forget about her lunch date with Shane in fact she stead up most the night deciding if she should go. She just didn’t want Shane to know as if to say she didn’t even think about Shane anymore.

"Oh, well I really would appreciate if you came. Please it will only be an hour tops"

"I guess, what restaurant are we going to"

"Actually I wanted to make lunch at my house I mean if that’s okay with you". Carmen was surprised with Shane’s response. She didn’t know what to think about it

"Yeah, I guess that’s cool but I have to go so I guess ill see you in a little bit".

"Okay thanks, see you later." As Shane hung up the phone she felt a wave of relief. She thought it would be nice for Carmen to be taken care of for a change. She knew that this could either end good or completely bad. There was no in between. Shane began to feel nervous at the thought of Carmen coming over. But the fact that Carmen agreed to come meant to Shane that there was still hope. She was confused with her emotions she didn’t know if she wanted to get Carmen back. She knew that Carmen was the one for her but she still didn’t know if she could handle that kind of commitment. But one thing she did know is that life without Carmen is an even worse thought. The hell she goes through everyday when Carmen isn’t by her side is unbearable. She had to make sure she changed before even thinking of getting Carmen back.

After Shane got out of the shower she took her time getting ready. Made sure her hair and makeup was perfect. She put on a blue dress shirt and snug jeans. She felt a lot of anxiety as the minutes went by. Carmen should be there in about a half hour. Shane started to prepare for lunch. She put together a salad and made cheeseburgers. She knew that Carmen loved the way she cooked her cheeseburgers. Even though they always were on the burnt side, Carmen still loved them. Maybe she loved them because she knew I put a lot of effort into it. She put two roses inside a vase and placed it in the middle of the table. As she placed it on the table she remembered all the memories this table possessed. A lot of love making and fights. As she reminisced at her thoughts she heard a knock at the door. It was Carmen.
