Tina: hey babe, did you get enough sleep…
Bette: I think so, if this is what being pregnant is about… baby its going to be a long 9 months…
Tina: I will be here to help you… come on dinner is just about ready and if we stay in her any longer, dinner will be cold… here let me help you up…
Tina pulls the covers back…
Tina: OMG…

Tears were pooling in Tina’s eyes…
Bette: Tee… what’s the matter…
Tina: I’m so sorry babe… don’t move to much… your bleeding…
Bette’s eyes immediately watered, she turned her face away from Tina… her shoulders started to buckle… Tina grabbed a towel and helped Bette up… and Bette walked into the bathroom, closing the door… Tina wanted to help but she also knew Bette needed a few minutes alone… soon the bathroom door opened, but no Bette walked back out… Tina walked over quietly… Bette locked eyes with her and her arms went out to Tina… Tina ran to her and they both embraced, both crying for their loss…
Bette: I’m so sorry Tee… I failed you…
Tina: babe you didn’t fail me, if anything I failed you… but together we will get past this… so what’s another month…
Bette: I had myself convinced I was pregnant…
Tina: it will happen, I just needed a practice run…
Bette: you know what they say… “Practice Makes Perfect”
Tina: and babe we are perfect together… you all cleaned up and ready for dinner…
Bette: Just about… give me a few more minutes…
Tina: Ok you take all the time you need.
Before Tina left their bedroom… she went to their bed and pulled off the sheets and rolled them into a ball and shoved them into the corner of their room… wiping her eyes again before leaving…

About 10 minutes passed and Bette walked into the living room… she looked at Linda and they both just opened their arms to comfort each other…
Linda: It will happen Bette…
Bette: I know… I’m sure it will take the next time… if not we will just keep doing it until it does…

This was a great chapter Amanda. I always felt sorry for Bette and if I could have beaten Melvin for what he did to Bette and her mother, I would have. I hate men that abuse women and children, now I’ve started hating him all over again. I hope Tina’s mom can find her, and if she does, I hope Bette can accept her. It wasn’t her fault that she left and that old bastard always threatened her if she tried to see Bette. Hope you let them reunite in your story. Great chapter. Thanks for posting.
