Chapter TwentySeven
They finally finish dinner and clean up together. They then move over to the sofa.
“I have to go soon. I just got a few hours off. This case is huge. I’m sorry I can’t stay longer. Hopefully when we close this case, the workdays will be a little closer to normality. I’ve slept maybe 7 hours the last 6 days. I’m so tired, but the adrenaline of this case, keeps me going.” Bette says as she stretches out a little.
“Just promise me that you’ll be careful. If you’re tried, please don’t drive. I can’t loose you, not now, not ever.” Tina says.
“I’ll be careful, I promise. I won’t risk coming home to you on a daily basis.” Bette replies softly. “You and Evan are my no. 1 priority, but sometimes work gets in the way, especially with cases like this.” Bette says.
“I know, and that’s okay. Work is important too. I will have to go out and get a job soon too. Just have to get the last ok, from the doctor.” Tina says.
“Yeah, and that will happen soon. I’ll keep a lookout for any openings. What are you in the mood for? Teaching again? Or perhaps something in the music industry?” Bette asks.
“I haven’t thought about that, but I do have entertainment business in my degree from UCLA, all though that was more directed at the film industry, I would assume that the business aspect of it isn’t that different.” Tina says. “I’ll check the papers and adds for any openings.” She adds.
“And don’t forget the local TV-station. Those would be lucky to have some of your caliber there with them.” Bette says with a smile.
“Thank you. I’ll go by them in a few days.” Tina says. “I’d like to just relax a few more days. Get this apartment more into a homey feel. It lacks a few touches I think.” Tina says and looks around.
“I think it looks great. You’ve done wonders with it already.” Bette says as she stands up. “So, I should go then.” She says and walks slowly over to the door.
“Yeah. I’ll miss you, when will you stop by next time?” She asks.
“I don’t know, but I’ll call you at least. I’ll call you briefly tonight before you go to bed. Around Eleven, is that okay?” Bette asks.

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Love it. So happy they are getting together and Tina is no longer afraid of it. Hope she can find a job in the movie business there in Nashville. Soon Hollywood will be calling. Thanks for posting.
Awesome! Just caught up on the last three chapters and finally Bette and Tina made it official..they are dating. I know Bette agreed to take things as slow as Tina needed but seeing as how Tina is coming off of major life drama and has never been w/ a woman how long will Bette have to wait? No matter how long it takes Bette is wild for Tina and will just have to live w/ cold showers and kisses for the time being. Post soon!
Yesss.. An update. I love how their relationship is progressing. I have a sad feeling that our heroin,Bette,is about to take a bullet. Will Tina be allowed to be there for her?
If Bette is injured, that might speed up Tina’s need to be w/her.
I’m loving the pace of this story. I’m just hoping Bette won’t get hurt during this case she’s working on. PPS
i have a feeling bette is going to get hurt… so please keep her safe… but then again tina will be able to nurse her back to health… lol… pps
