    Chapter 61

The Grill on the Alley – Beverly Hills

Stuffing the valet ticket into her purse, Tina walked into the bistro and immediately searched the bustling restaurant for her blonde lunch date. The black and white tiled floors were traipsed by wait staff, suited junior agents fitted with Bluetooth earpieces, hot shot producers and the occasional big name actor. It was the quintessential Hollywood power lunch location.

Tina spotted Joyce at one of the coveted green booths in the middle of the floor. The high-powered attorney was in her usual garb; designer suit with a collared blouse underneath.

Preoccupied with her iPhone, Joyce did not notice Tina dodging the mahogany chairs and busy servers as she made her way towards the table. She slid into the booth which effectively got the attorney’s attention.

“Hey there sunshine.” Joyce said, her toothy grin flashing at her new tablemate.

“Hi, Joyce.” Tina returned the smile as they shook hands across the table.

    “Martini?”

“Um, no thanks. Gotta get back to the office later.”

“Me too.” Joyce admitted. “Jim? Can you bring me another Ruby Red Lemon Drop please? And tell Art not to be stingy with the Courvoisier this round.” She hollered at the waiter.

    “Yes, Ms. Wischnia.”

“Working lunch, huh?” Tina asked with a shake of her head noticing the nearly emptied martini glass sitting in front of Joyce.

“Everyday.” Joyce replied. “So, how the hell is that clueless boyfriend of yours, blondie? Still screwing over Alphaville talent with his poorly written contractual language?” The lawyer smirked as she inquired.

Tina licked her lips and smiled.

    “Actually, I don’t have a boyfriend, Joyce.”

“Really?” Joyce said as she finished the remainder of her cocktail. “Well that should give every man in the music industry a hard-on knowing you’re back on the market.”

“I didn’t say I was back on the market, Joyce.”

“Oh dear lord, don’t tell me you married that lug? Why wasn’t I invited?”

“Jesus, no, I didn’t marry him. In fact, I turned down his proposal.”

“Atta girl. You’re way too smart for that dolt.”

Tina picked up the menu to scan her lunch options.

“Well, don’t keep me in suspense sweetheart, who’s the new stud in your life if you’re not on the market?”

    1. Hopefully when Tina leaves Joyce she will go to Bette immediately and tell her what Aaron wants to do. She should not let it wait another minuteor she will do irreprable harm to their relationship. I’ll wish her good luck and God’s speed in her dealings with Bette on this matter. Joyce is one colorful character and so are you to come up with all the things she says. Great update. Thanks.

    2. Well, music is just the best for that, so I needn’t drink or eat!!!!It’s all about priority, and so far, so is music into my life. Now Tina better talk to Bette before things get ugly. Thanks for the update! Hope you’re doing fine.

    3. Great job with the dialogue! I can totally picture Joyce/JL saying those quick one liners. Good to see Tina getting a little jealous & territorial over Bette too! So how is Tina gonna break the news to Bette about only wanting to sign Kit? Is their bind strong enough to make it over this tiny bump? I sure hope so! And by the by…. The visual of Tina slurping down clams “like a pro” has me thinking all sorts of dirty thoughts…. Should I share? PPS :-)

    4. What’s not to love about Joyce…and your writing? Hilarious! The banter of Tina boasting about switching teams and being fucked under water to Joyce revealing her a spaghetti girl to all of Joyce’s pet names for Tina had me guffawing! Try a Goody Powder or two with that re-hydration next time you hang with Stella…sure cure.

    5. I hope T can take Joyce’ advice. Otherwise it will be a disaster between them. Thanks a lot for this story. In my opion I can understand why Tina want to do this. I know she can do whatever for bette because she love bette so much. But maybe for Bette’s thought she can’t understand.

    6. Cloudy, rainy with a chance of thunder? I know you are going to make it bad to the make it better again! I secretly enjoy a tortured and miserable B&T….just to enjoy seeing them get back together and I know you will do that extremely well! Thanks for entertaining me my dear MeLL! ;0)
